evaṃ mayā śrutam| ekasmin samaye bhagavān rājagṛhe viharati sma gṛdhakūṭe parvate mahatā bhikṣusaṃghena sārdhamardhatrayodaśabhirbhikṣuśataiḥ, sarvairarhadbhiḥ kṣīṇāsravairniḥkleśairvaśībhūtaiḥ suvimuktacittaiḥ suvimuktaprajñairājñairājāneyairmahānāgaiḥ kṛtakṛtyaiḥ kṛtakaraṇīyairapahṛtabhārairanuprāptasvakārthaiḥ parikṣīṇabhavasaṃyojanaiḥ samyagājñāsuvimuktacittaiḥ sarvacetovaśiparamapāramiprāptairekaṃ pudgalaṃ sthāpayitvā yaduta āyuṣmantamānandam||



tatra khalu bhagavānāyuṣmantaṃ subhūtiṃ sthaviramāmantrayate sma-pratibhātu te subhūte bodhisattvānāṃ mahāsattvānāṃ prajñāpāramitāmārabhya yathā bodhisattvā mahāsattvāḥ prajñāpāramitā niryāyuriti||



atha khalvāyuṣmataḥ śāriputrasyaitadabhavat-kimayamāyuṣmān subhūtiḥ sthavira ātmīyena svakena prajñāpratibhānabalādhānena svakena prajñāpratibhānabalādhiṣṭhānena bodhisattvānāṃ mahāsattvānāṃ prajñāpāramitāmupadekṣyati utāho buddhānubhāveneti?



atha khalvāyuṣmān subhūtirbuddhānubhāvena āyuṣmataḥ śāriputrasya imamevarūpaṃ cetasaiva cetaḥparivitarkamājñāya āyuṣmantaṃ śāriputrametadavocat-yatkiṃcidāyuṣman śāriputra bhagavataḥ śrāvakā bhāṣante deśayanti upadiśanti udīrayanti prakāśayanti saṃprakāśayanti, sa sarvastathāgatasya puruṣakāro veditavyaḥ| tatkasya hetoḥ? yo hi tathāgatena dharmo deśitaḥ, tatra dharmadeśanāyāṃ śikṣamāṇāste tāṃ dharmatāṃ sākṣātkurvanti dhārayanti, tāṃ dharmatāṃ sākṣātkṛtya dhārayitvā yadyadeva bhāṣante, yadyadeva deśayanti, yadyadeva upadiśanti, yadyadevodīrayanti, yadyadeva prakāśayanti, yadyadeva saṃprakāśayanti, sarvaṃ taddharmatayā aviruddham| tathāgatadharmadeśanāyā eva āyuṣman śāriputra eṣa niṣyandaḥ yatte kulaputrā upadiśantastāṃ dharmatāṃ dharmatayā na virodhayanti||



atha khalvāyuṣmān subhūtirbuddhānubhāvena bhagavantametadavocat-yadbhagavānevamāha-pratibhātu te subhūte bodhisattvānāṃ mahāsattvānāṃ prajñāpāramitāmārabhya yathā bodhisattvā mahāsattvāḥ prajñāpāramitāṃ niryāyuriti| bodhisattvo bodhisattva iti yadidaṃ bhagavannucyate, katamasyaitadbhagavan dharmasyādhivacanaṃ yaduta bodhisattva iti? nāhaṃ bhagavaṃstaṃ dharmaṃ samanupaśyāmi yaduta bodhisattva iti| tamapyahaṃ bhagavan dharmaṃ na samanupaśyāmi yaduta prajñāpāramitā nāma| so'haṃ bhagavan bodhisattvaṃ vā bodhisattvadharmaṃ vā avindan anupalabhamāno'samanupaśyan, prajñāpāramitāmapyavindan anupalabhamāno'samanupaśyan katamaṃ bodhisattvaṃ katamasyāṃ prajñāpāramitāyāmavavadiṣyāmi anuśāsiṣyāmi? api tu khalu punarbhagavan sacedevaṃ bhāṣyamāṇe deśyamāne upadiśyamāne bodhisattvasya cittaṃ nāvalīyate na saṃlīyate na viṣīdati na viṣādamāpadyate, nāsya vipṛṣṭhībhavati mānasam, na bhagnapṛṣṭhībhavati, notrasyati na saṃtrasyati na saṃtrāsamāpadyate, eṣa eva bodhisattvo mahāsattvaḥ prajñāpāramitāyāmanuśāsanīyaḥ| eṣaivāsya bodhisattvasya mahāsattvasya prajñāpāramitā veditavyā| eṣo'vavādaḥ prajñāpāramitāyām| sacedevaṃ tiṣṭhati, eṣaivāsyāvavādānuśāsanī||



punaraparaṃ bhagavan bodhisattvena mahāsattvena prajñāpāramitāyāṃ caratā prajñāpāramitāyāṃ bhāvayatā evaṃ śikṣitavyaṃ yathā asau śikṣyamāṇastenāpi bodhicittena na manyeta| tatkasya hetoḥ? tathā hi-taccittamacittam| prakṛtiścittasya prabhāsvarā||



atha khalvāyuṣmān śāriputra āyuṣmantaṃ subhūtimetadavocat-kiṃ punarāyuṣman subhūte asti taccittaṃ yaccittamacittam? evamukte āyuṣmān subhūtirāyuṣmantaṃ śāriputrametadavocat kiṃ punarāyuṣman śāriputra yā acittatā, tatra acittatāyāmastitā vā nāstitā vā vidyate vā upalabhyate vā? śāriputra āha-na hyetadāyuṣman subhūte| subhūtirāha-sacedāyuṣman śāriputra tatra acittatāyāmastitā vā nāstitā vā na vidyate vā nopalabhyate vā, api nu te yukta eṣa paryanuyogo bhavati yadāyuṣmān śāriputra evamāha-asti taccittaṃ yaccittamacittamiti? evamukte āyuṣmān śāriputra āyuṣmantaṃ subhūtimetadavocat-kā punareṣā āyuṣman subhūte acittatā ? subhūtirāha-avikārā āyuṣman śāriputra avikalpā acittatā||



atha khalvāyuṣmān śāriputra āyuṣmate subhūtaye sādhukāramadāt-sādhu sādhvāyuṣman subhūte| yathāpi nāma tvaṃ bhagavatā araṇāvihāriṇāmagratāyāṃ nirdiṣṭo nirdiśasi| ataśca bodhisattvo mahāsattvo'vinivartanīyo'nuttarāyāḥ samyaksaṃbodherupaparīkṣitavyaḥ, avirahitaśca bodhisattvo mahāsattvaḥ prajñāpāramitāyā veditavyaḥ| śrāvakabhūmāvapi śikṣitukāmena iyameva prajñāpāramitā śrotavyā udgrahītavyā dhārayitavyā vācayitavyā paryavāptavyā pravartayitavyā| ihaiva prajñāpāramitāyāṃ śikṣitavyaṃ yogamāpattavyam| pratyekabuddhabhūmāvapi śikṣitukāmena iyameva prajñāpāramitā śrotavyā udgrahītavyā dhārayitavyā vācayitavyā paryavāptavyā pravartayitavyā| ihaiva prajñāpāramitāyāṃ śikṣitavyaṃ yogamāpattavyam| bodhisattvabhūmāvapi śikṣitukāmena iyameva prajñāpāramitā śrotavyā udgrahītavyā dhārayitavyā vācayitavyā paryavāptavyā pravartayitavyā| ihaiva prajñāpāramitāyāmupāyakauśalyasamanvāgatena sarvabodhisattvadharmasamudāgamāya yogaḥ karaṇīyaḥ| tatkasya hetoḥ? ihaiva hi prajñāpāramitāyāṃ vistareṇa sarvabodhisattvadharmā upadiṣṭāḥ, yatra bodhisattvena mahāsattvena śikṣitavyaṃ yogamāpattavyam| anuttarāyāmapi samyaksaṃbodhau śikṣitukāmena iyameva prajñāpāramitā śrotavyā udgrahītavyā dhārayitavyā vācayitavyā paryavāptavyā pravartayitavyā| ihaiva prajñāpāramitāyāmupāyakauśalyasamanvāgatena sarvabuddhadharmasamudāgamāya yogaḥ karaṇīyaḥ| tatkasya hetoḥ? ihaiva hi prajñāpāramitāyāṃ vistareṇa sarvabuddha dharmā upadiṣṭāḥ, yatra bodhisattvena mahāsattvena śikṣitavyaṃ yogamāpattavyam||



atha khalvāyuṣmān subhūtirbhagavantametadavocat-yo'haṃ bhagavan etadeva bodhisattvanāmadheyaṃ na vedmi nopalabhe na samanupaśyāmi, prajñāpāramitāmapi na vedmi nopalabhe na samanupaśyāmi| so'haṃ bhagavan etadeva bodhisattvanāmadheyamavindan anupalabhamāno'samanupaśyan prajñāpāramitāmapi avindan anupalabhamāno'samanupaśyan katamaṃ bodhisattvaṃ katamasyāṃ prajñāpāramitāyāmavavadiṣyāmi anuśāsiṣyāmi? etadeva bhagavan kaukṛtyaṃ syāt, yo'haṃ vastvavindan anupalabhamāno'samanupaśyan nāmadheyamātreṇa āyavyayaṃ kuryāṃ yaduta bodhisattva iti| api tu khalu punarbhagavaṃstadapi nāmadheyaṃ na sthitaṃ nāsthitaṃ na viṣṭhitaṃ nāviṣṭhitam| tatkasya hetoḥ? avidyamānatvena tasya nāmadheyasya| evaṃ tannāmadheyaṃ na sthitaṃ nāsthitaṃ na viṣṭhitaṃ nāviṣṭhitam| sacedbodhisattvasya mahāsattvasya evaṃ gambhīrāyāṃ prajñāpāramitāyāṃ bhāṣyamāṇāyāṃ deśyamānāyāmupadiśyamānāyāṃ cittaṃ nāvalīyate na saṃlīyate na viṣīdati na viṣādamāpadyate, nāsya vipṛṣṭhībhavati mānasam, na bhagnapṛṣṭhībhavati, notrasyati na saṃtrasyati na saṃtrāsamāpadyate| adhimucyate'dhyāśayena avirahito bodhisattvo mahāsattvaḥ prajñāpāramitāyā veditavyaḥ, sthito'vinivartanīyāyāṃ bodhisattvabhūmau, susthito'sthānayogena| punaraparaṃ bhagavan bodhisattvena mahāsattvena prajñāpāramitāyāṃ caratā prajñāpāramitāṃ bhāvayatā na rūpe sthātavyaṃ na vedanāyāṃ na saṃjñāyāṃ na saṃskāreṣu, na vijñāne sthātavyam| tatkasya hetoḥ? sacedrūpe tiṣṭhati, rūpābhisaṃskāre carati, na carati prajñāpāramitāyām| evaṃ sacedvedanāyāṃ saṃjñāyāṃ saṃskāreṣu| sacedvijñāne tiṣṭhati, vijñānābhisaṃskāre carati, na carati prajñāpāramitāyām| tatkasya hetoḥ? na hi abhisaṃskāre caran prajñāpāramitāṃ parigṛhṇāti, nāpi prajñāpāramitāyāṃ yogamāpadyate, nāpi prajñāpāramitāṃ paripūrayate| aparipūrayamāṇaḥ prajñāpāramitāṃ na niryāsyati sarvajñatāyāmaparigṛhītaṃ parigṛhṇan| tatkasya hetoḥ? rūpaṃ hi aparigṛhītaṃ prajñāpāramitāyām| evaṃ vedanā saṃjñā saṃskārāḥ| vijñānaṃ hi aparigṛhītaṃ prajñāpāramitāyām| yaśca rūpasyāparigrahaḥ, na tadrūpam| evaṃ yo vedanāyāḥ saṃjñāyāḥ saṃskārāṇām| yo vijñānasyāparigrahaḥ, na tadvijñānam| sāpi prajñāpāramitā aparigṛhītā| evaṃ hyatra bodhisattvena mahāsattvena prajñāpāramitāyāṃ caritavyam| ayaṃ ca bodhisattvasya mahāsattvasya sarvadharmāparigṛhīto nāma samādhirvipulaḥ puraskṛtaḥ apramāṇaniyato'sādhāraṇaḥ| sarvaśrāvakapratyekabuddhaiḥ sāpi sarvajñatā aparigṛhītā, na hi nimittato grahītavyā| sacennimittato grahītavyā abhaviṣyat, na ceha śreṇikaḥ parivrājakaḥ śraddhāmalapsyata| tatra hi śreṇikaḥ parivrājakaḥ sarvajñajñāne adhimucya śraddhānusārī prādeśikena jñānenāvatīrṇaḥ| so'vatīrya na rūpaṃ parigṛhṇīte| evaṃ na vedanāṃ na saṃjñāṃ na saṃskārān| na vijñānaṃ parigṛhṇīte| nāpi tatra prītisukhena tajjñānaṃ samanupaśyati| nādhyātmaṃ rūpasya tajjñānaṃ samanupaśyati| na vahirdhā rūpasya tajjñānaṃ samanupaśyati| nādhyātmabahirdhā rūpasya tajjñānaṃ samanupaśyati| nāpyanyatra rūpāttajjñānaṃ samanupaśyati| evaṃ nādhyātmaṃ vedanāyāḥ saṃjñāyāḥ saṃskārāṇām| nādhyātmaṃ vijñānasya tajjñānaṃ samanupaśyati| na vahirdhā vijñānasya tajjñānaṃ samanupaśyati| nādhyātmavahirdhā vijñānasya tajjñānaṃ samanupaśyati| nāpyanyatra vijñānāttajjñānaṃ samanupaśyati| atra padaparyāye śreṇikaḥ parivrājako'dhimuktaḥ| so'tra sarvatra śraddhānusārī sarvajñajñāne dharmatāṃ pramāṇīkṛtya evamadhimukta iti| tena na kaściddharmaḥ parigṛhītaḥ| nāpi sa kaściddharmo ya upalabdhaḥ, yaṃ gṛhṇīyānmuñcedvā| sa nirvāṇamapi na manyate| iyamapi bhagavan bodhisattvasya mahāsattvasya prajñāpāramitā veditavyā yadrūpaṃ na parigṛhṇīte | evaṃ yadvedanāṃ saṃjñāṃ saṃskārān| yadvijñānaṃ na parigṛhṇīte| na cāntarā parinirvāti, aparipūrṇairdaśabhistathāgatabalaiścaturbhistathāgatavaiśāradyairaṣṭādaśabhiśca āveṇikairbuddhadharmaiḥ| tasmādiyamapi bhagavan bodhisattvasya mahāsattvasya prajñāpāramitā veditavyā||



punaraparaṃ bhagavan bodhisattvena mahāsattvena prajñāpāramitāyāṃ caratā prajñāpāramitāṃ bhāvayatā evamupaparīkṣitavyamevamupanidhyātavyam-katamaiṣā prajñāpāramitā? kasya caiṣā prajñāpāramitā? kiṃ yo dharmo na vidyate nopalabhyate, sā prajñāpāramiteti? sacedevamupaparīkṣamāṇaḥ evamupanidhyāyan nāvalīyate na saṃlīyate na viṣīdati na viṣādamāpadyate, nāsya vipṛṣṭhībhavati mānasam, na bhagnapṛṣṭhībhavati, notrasyati na saṃtrasyati na saṃtrāsamāpadyate, avirahito bodhisattvo mahāsattvaḥ prajñāpāramitayā veditavyaḥ||



atha khalvāyuṣmān śāriputra āyuṣmantaṃ subhūtimetadavocat-kiṃ kāraṇamāyuṣman subhūte avirahito bodhisattvo mahāsattvaḥ prajñāpāramitayā veditavyaḥ? yadā rūpameva virahitaṃ rūpasvabhāvena, evaṃ yadā vedanaiva saṃjñaiva saṃskārā eva, yadā vijñānameva virahitaṃ vijñānasvabhāvena, yadā prajñāpāramitaiva virahitā prajñāpāramitāsvabhāvena, yadā sarvajñataiva virahitā sarvajñatāsvabhāvena||



evamukte āyuṣmān subhūtirāyuṣmantaṃ śāriputrametadavocat-etametadāyuṣman śāriputra evametat| rūpamevāyuṣman śāriputra virahitaṃ rūpasvabhāvena| evaṃ vedanaiva saṃjñaiva saṃskārā eva| vijñānamevāyuṣman śāriputra virahitaṃ vijñānasvabhāvena| prajñāpāramitaiva āyuṣman śāriputra virahitā prajñāpāramitāsvabhāvena| sarvajñataiva āyuṣman śāriputra virahitā sarvajñatāsvabhāvena| prajñāpāramitālakṣaṇenāpi prajñāpāramitā virahitā| lakṣaṇasvabhāvenāpi lakṣaṇaṃ virahitam| lakṣyasvabhāvenāpi lakṣyaṃ virahitam| svabhāvalakṣaṇenāpi svabhāvo virahitaḥ||



evamukte āyuṣmān śāriputra āyuṣmantaṃ subhūtimetadavocat-kiṃ punarāyuṣman subhūte yo bodhisattvo mahāsattvo'tra śikṣiṣyate, sa niryāsyati sarvajñatāyām? āyuṣmān subhūtirāha-evametadāyuṣman śāriputra, evametat| yo bodhisattvo mahāsattvo'tra śikṣiṣyate, sa niryāsyati sarvajñatāyām| tatkasya hetoḥ? ajātā hyanirjātā hyāyuṣman śāriputra sarvadharmāḥ| evaṃ carata āyuṣman śāriputra bodhisattvasya mahāsattvasya sarvajñatā āsannībhavati| yathā yathā sarvajñatā āsannībhavati, tathā tathā sattvaparipācanāya kāyacittapariśuddhirlakṣaṇapariśuddhiḥ buddhakṣetraśuddhiḥ| buddhaiśca samavadhānaṃ bhavati| evaṃ ca punarāyuṣman śāriputra bodhisattvo mahāsattvaḥ prajñāpāramitāyāṃ caran sarvajñatāyā āsannībhavati||



punaraparamāyuṣmān subhūtirbodhisattvaṃ mahāsattvamārabhyaivamāha-sacedrūpe carati, nimitte carati| sacedrūpanimitte carati, nimitte carati| sacedrūpaṃ nimittamiti carati, nimitte carati| sa cedrūpasyotpāde carati, nimitte carati| sacedrūpasya nirodhe carati, nimitte carati| sacedrūpasya vināśe carati, nimitte carati| sacedrūpaṃ śūnyamiti carati, nimitte carati| ahaṃ carāmīti carati, nimitte carati| ahaṃ bodhisattva iti carati, nimitte carati| ahaṃ bodhisattva iti hyupalambha eva sa carati| evaṃ sacedvidanāyāṃ saṃjñāyāṃ saṃskāreṣu| sacedvijñāne carati, nimitte carati| sacedvijñānanimitte carati, nimitte carati sacedvijñānaṃ nimittamiti carati, nimitte carati| sacedvijñānasyotpāde carati, nimitte carati| sacedvijñānasya nirodhe carati, nimitte carati| sacedvijñānasya vināśe carati, nimitte carati| sacedvijñānaṃ śūnyamiti carati, nimitte carati | ahaṃ carāmīti carati, nimitte carati| ahaṃ bodhisattva iti carati, nimitte carati| ahaṃ bodhisattva iti hyupalambha eva sa carati| sacetpunarasyaivaṃ bhavati-ya evaṃ carati, sa prajñāpāramitāyāṃ carati, sa prajñāpāramitāṃ bhāvayatīti, nimitta eva sa carati| ayaṃ bodhisattvo'nupāyakuśalo veditavyaḥ||



atha khalvāyuṣmān śāriputra āyuṣmantaṃ subhūtimetadavocat-kathaṃ punarāyuṣman subhūte caran bodhisattvo mahāsattvaścarati prajñāpāramitāyām? evamukte āyuṣmān subhūtirāyuṣmantaṃ śāriputrametadavocat-sacedāyuṣman śāriputra bodhisattvo mahāsattvo na rūpe carati, na rūpanimitte carati, na rūpaṃ nimittamiti carati, na rūpasyotpāde carati, na rūpasya nirodhe carati, na rūpasya vināśe carati, na rūpaṃ śūnyamiti carati, nāhaṃ carāmīti carati, nāhaṃ bodhisattva iti carati| evaṃ sacenna vedanāyāṃ na saṃjñāyāṃ na saṃskāreṣu| sacenna vijñāne carati, na vijñānanimitte carati, na vijñānaṃ nimittamiti carati, na vijñānasyotpāde carati, na vijñānasya nirodhe carati, na vijñānasya vināśe carati, na vijñānaṃ śūnyamiti carati, nāhaṃ carāmīti carati, nāhaṃ bodhisattva iti carati| sacetpunarnāsyaivaṃ bhavati-ya evaṃ carati, sa prajñāpāramitāyāṃ carati, sa prajñāpāramitāṃ bhāvayatīti| evaṃ caran bodhisattvo mahāsattvaścarati prajñāpāramitāyām| sa hi caraṃścarāmīti nopaiti, na carāmīti nopaiti, carāmi ca na carāmi ceti nopaiti, naiva carāmi na na carāmīti nopaiti, cariṣyāmīti nopaiti, na cariṣyāmīti nopaiti, cariṣyāmi ca na cariṣyāmi ceti nopaiti, naiva cariṣyāmi na cariṣyāmīti nopaiti| tatkasya hetornopaiti? sarvadharmā hyanupagatā anupāttāḥ| ayamucyate sarvadharmānupādāno nāma samādhirbodhisattvasya mahāsattvasya, vipulaḥ puraskṛto'pramāṇaniyato'sādhāraṇaḥ sarvaśrāvakapratyekabuddhaiḥ| anenaiva samādhinā viharan bodhisattvo mahāsattvaḥ kṣipramanuttarāṃ samyaksaṃbodhimabhisaṃbudhyate||



buddhānubhāvena āyuṣmān subhūtiḥ sthavira evamāha-vyākṛto'yaṃ bhagavan bodhisattvo mahāsattvaḥ pūrvakaistathāgatairarhadbhiḥ samyaksaṃbuddhairanuttarāyāṃ samyaksaṃbodhau, yo'nena samādhinā viharati| sa tamapi samādhiṃ na samanupaśyati, na ca tena samādhinā manyate-ahaṃ samāhitaḥ, ahaṃ samādhiṃ samāpatsye, ahaṃ samādhiṃ samāpadye, ahaṃ samādhisamāpannaḥ, iti, evaṃ tasya sarveṇa sarvaṃ sarvathā sarvaṃ na saṃvidyate||



evamukte āyuṣmān śāriputra āyuṣmantaṃ subhūtimetadavocat-katamenāyuṣman subhūte samādhinā viharan bodhisattvo mahāsattvastathāgatairarhadbhiḥ samyaksaṃbuddhairvyākriyate'nuttarāyāṃ samyaksaṃbodhau? śakyaḥ sa samādhirdarśayitum? subhūtirāha-no hīdamāyuṣman śāriputra| tatkasya hetoḥ? tamapi hi sa kulaputraḥ samādhiṃ na jānāti, na saṃjānīte| āyuṣmān śāriputra āha-na jānāti na saṃjānīte ityāyuṣman subhūte vadasi? āyuṣmān subhūtirāha-na jānāti na saṃjānīte ityāyuṣman śāriputra vadāmi| tatkasya hetorna jānāti na saṃjānīte? avidyamānatvena tasya samādhestaṃ samādhiṃ na jānāti na saṃjānīte| atha khalu bhagavān āyuṣmate subhūtaye sādhukāramadāt-sādhu sādhu subhūte| evametatsubhūte, evametat| yathāpi nāma tathāgatānubhāvena te pratibhāti, tathāgatādhiṣṭhānenopadiśasi| evaṃ cātra bodhisattvena mahāsattvena śikṣitavyam| tatkasya hetoḥ? evaṃ hi śikṣamāṇo bodhisattvo mahāsattvaḥ prajñāpāramitāyāṃ śikṣate||

evamukte āyuṣmān śāriputro bhagavantametadavocat-evaṃ śikṣamāṇo bhagavan bodhisattvo mahāsattvaḥ katamasmin dharme śikṣate? evamukte bhagavānāyuṣmantaṃ śāriputrametadavocat evaṃ śikṣamāṇaḥ śāriputra bodhisattvo mahāsattvo na kasmiṃściddharme śikṣate| tatkasya hetoḥ? na hi te śāriputra dharmāstathā saṃvidyante yathā bālapṛthagjanā aśrutavanto'bhiniviṣṭāḥ| āyuṣmān śāriputra āha-kathaṃ tarhi te bhagavan saṃvidyante? bhagavānāha-yathā śāriputra na saṃvidyante, tathā saṃvidyante evamavidyamānāḥ| tenocyante avidyeti| tān bālapṛthagjanā aśrutavanto'bhiniviṣṭāḥ| tairasaṃvidyamānāḥ sarvadharmāḥ kalpitāḥ| te tān kalpayitvā dvayorantayoḥ saktāḥ tān dharmānna jānanti na paśyanti| tasmātte'saṃvidyamānān sarvadharmān kalpayanti| kalpayitvā dvāvantāvabhiniviśante abhiniviśya tannidānamupalambhaṃ niśritya atītān dharmān kalpayanti, anāgatān dharmān kalpayanti, pratyutpannān dharmān kalpayanti te kalpayitvā nāmarūpe'bhiniviṣṭāḥ| tairasaṃvidyamānāḥ sarvadharmāḥ kalpitāḥ| te tānasaṃvidyamānān sarvadharmān kalpayanto yathābhūtaṃ mārgaṃ na jānanti na paśyanti| yathābhūtaṃ mārgamajānanto'paśyanto na niryānti traidhātukāt, na budhyante bhūtakoṭim| tena te bālā iti saṃjñāṃ gacchanti| te satyaṃ dharmaṃ na śraddhadhati| na khalu punaḥ śāriputra bodhisattvā mahāsattvā kaṃciddharmamabhiniviśante||



evamukte āyuṣmān śāriputro bhagavantametadavocat-evaṃ śikṣamāṇo bhagavan bodhisattvo mahāsattvaḥ sarvajñatāyāṃ śikṣate? bhagavānāha-evaṃ śikṣamāṇaḥ śāriputra bodhisattvo mahāsattvaḥ sarvajñatāyāmapi na śikṣate| evaṃ śikṣamāṇaḥ śāriputra bodhisattvo mahāsattvaḥ sarvadharmeṣu śikṣate| evaṃ śikṣamāṇaḥ śāriputra bodhisattvo mahāsattvaḥ sarvajñatāyāṃ śikṣate, sarvajñatāyā āsannībhavati, sarvajñatāyāṃ niryāsyati||



atha khalvāyuṣmān subhūtirbhagavantametadavocat-yo bhagavan evaṃ paripṛcchet-kimayaṃ māyāpuruṣāḥ sarvajñatāyāṃ śikṣiṣyate, sarvajñatāyā āsannībhaviṣyati, sarvajñatāyāṃ niryāsyatīti? tasya bhagavan evaṃ paripṛcchataḥ kathaṃ nirdeṣṭavyaṃ syāt? evamukte bhagavānāyuṣmantaṃ subhūtimetadavocat-tena hi subhūte tvāmevātra pratiprakṣyāmi| yathā te kṣamate, tathā vyākuryāḥ| sādhu bhagavannityāyuṣmān subhūtirbhagavataḥ pratyaśrauṣīt| bhagavānetadavocat-tatkiṃ manyase subhūte anyā sā māyā, anyattadrūpam, anyā sā māyā, anyā sā vedanā| anyā sā saṃjñā, anye te saṃskārāḥ| anyā sā māyā, anyattadvijñānam? subhūtirāha-na hyetadbhagavan| na hi bhagavan anyā sā māyā anyattadrūpam| rūpameva bhagavan māyā, māyaiva rūpam| na hi bhagavan anyā sā māyā anyā sā vedanā, anyā sā saṃjñā anye te saṃskārāḥ| vedanā saṃjñā saṃskārā eva bhagavan māyā, māyaiva vedanāsaṃjñāsaṃskārāḥ| na bhagavan anyā sā māyā anyattadvijñānam| vijñānameva bhagavan māyā, māyaiva vijñānam||



bhagavānāha-tatkiṃ manyase subhūte atraiṣāṃ saṃjñā samajñā prajñaptirvyavahāraḥ pañcasūpādānaskandheṣu yaduta bodhisattva iti? evamukte āyuṣmān subhūtirbhagavantametadavocat-evametadbhagavan, evametatsugata| tena hi bhagavan bodhisattvena mahāsattvena prajñapāramitāyāṃ śikṣamāṇena māyāpuruṣeṇeva śikṣitavyaṃ bhavatyanuttarāyāṃ samyaksaṃbodhau| tatkasya hetoḥ? sa eva hi bhagavan māyāpuruṣo dhārayitavyo yaduta pañcopādānaskandhāḥ| tatkasya hetoḥ? tathā hi bhagavan māyopamaṃ rūpamuktaṃ bhagavatā| yacca rūpaṃ tatṣaḍindriyaṃ te pañca skandhāḥ| tathā hi bhagavan māyopamā vedanāsaṃjñāsaṃskārā uktāḥ| tathā hi bhagavan māyopamaṃ vijñānamuktaṃ bhagavatā| yacca vijñānaṃ tatṣaḍindriyaṃ te pañca skandhāḥ| mā bhagavan navayānasaṃprasthitā bodhisattvā mahāsattvā imaṃ nirdeśaṃ śrutvā utrasiṣuḥ saṃtrasiṣuḥ saṃtrāsamāpatsyante| bhagavānāha-yadi subhūte navayānasaṃprasthitā bodhisattvā mahāsattvāḥ pāpamitrahastagatā bhaviṣyanti, utrasiṣyanti saṃtrasiṣyanti saṃtrāsamāpatsyante| atha cetsubhūte navayānasaṃprasthitā bodhisattvā mahāsattvāḥ kalyāṇamitrahastagatā bhaviṣyanti, notrasiṣyanti na saṃtrasiṣyanti na saṃtrāsamāpatsyante||



evamukte āyuṣmān subhūtirbhagavantametadavocat-kāni punarbhagavan bodhisattvasya mahāsattvasya kalyāṇamitrāṇi veditavyāni? bhagavānāha-ya enaṃ pāramitāsu avavadanti anuśāsati| ye'smai mārakarmāṇyupadiśanti| evaṃ māradoṣā boddhavyāḥ-ime māradoṣāḥ| evaṃ mārakarmāṇi boddhavyāni-imāni mārakarmāṇi| tāni tvayā buddhvā vivarjayitavyānīti| imāni subhūte bodhisattvasya mahāsattvasya mahāsaṃnāhasaṃnaddhasya mahāyānasaṃprasthitasya mahāyānasamārūḍhasya kalyāṇamitrāṇi veditavyāni| evamukte āyuṣmān subhūtirbhagavantametadavocat-yadbhagavānevamāha-imāni subhūte bodhisattvasya mahāsattvasya mahāsaṃnāhasaṃnaddhasya mahāyānasaṃprasthitasya mahāyānasamārūḍhasya kalyāṇamitrāṇi veditavyānīti| yacca bodhisattvo mahāsattva iti bhagavannucyate, tatra bodhisattva iti bhagavan kaḥ padārtha? evamukte bhagavānāyuṣmantaṃ subhūtimetadavocat-apadārthaḥ subhūte bodhisattvapadārthaḥ| tatkasya hetoḥ? sarvadharmāṇāṃ hi subhūte bodhisattvo mahāsattvo'saktatāyāṃ śikṣate| sarvadharmāṇāṃ hi subhūte bodhisattvo mahāsattvo'nubodhanārthena asaktatāyāmanuttarāṃ samyaksaṃbodhimabhisaṃbudhyate| bodhyarthena tu subhūte bodhisattvo mahāsattva ityucyate| subhūtirāha-yatpunarbhagavānevamāha-bodhisattvo mahāsattva iti, kena kāraṇena bhagavan bodhisattvo mahāsattva ityucyate? bhagavānāha-mahataḥ sattvarāśermahataḥ sattvanikāyasya agratāṃ kārayiṣyati, tenārthena bodhisattvo mahāsattva ityucyate||



atha khalvāyuṣmān śāriputro bhagavantametadavocat-mamāpi bhagavan pratibhātiyenārthena bodhisattvo mahāsattva ityucyate| bhagavānāha-pratibhātu te śāriputra yasyedānīṃ kālaṃ manyase| āyuṣmān śāriputra āha-mahatyā ātmadṛṣṭyāḥ sattvadṛṣṭyāḥ jīvadṛṣṭyāḥ pudgala dṛṣṭyāḥ bhavadṛṣṭyāḥ vibhavadṛṣṭyāḥ ucchedadṛṣṭyāḥ śāśvatadṛṣṭyāḥ svakāyadṛṣṭyāḥ, etāsāmevamādyānāṃ dṛṣṭīnāṃ prahāṇāya dharmaṃ deśayiṣyatīti, tenārthena bodhisattvo mahāsattva ityucyate| atha khalvāyuṣmān subhūtirbhagavantametadavocat-mamāpi bhagavan pratibhāti yenārthena bodhisattvo mahāsattva ityucyate| bhagavānāha-pratibhātu te subhūte yasyedānīṃ kālaṃ manyase| subhūtirāha-bodhisattvo mahāsattva iti bhagavannucyate| yadapi tadbhagavan bodhicittaṃ sarvajñatācittamanāsravaṃ cittamasamaṃ cittaṃ asamasamaṃ cittamasādhāraṇaṃ sarvaśrāvakapratyekabuddhaiḥ, tatrāpi citte asakto'paryāpannaḥ| tatkasya hetoḥ? tathā hi tatsarvajñatācittamanāsravamaparyāpannaṃ tat, yadapi tatsarvajñatācittamanāsravamaparyāpannam| tatrāpi citte asakto'paryāpannaḥ| tenārthena bodhisattvo mahāsattva iti saṃkhyāṃ gacchati||



atha khalvāyuṣmān śāriputra āyuṣmantaṃ subhūtimetadavocat-kena kāraṇena āyuṣman subhūte tatrāpi citte asakto'paryāpannaḥ? subhūtirāha-acittatvādāyuṣman śāriputra tatrāpi citte asakto'paryāpannaḥ||



śāriputra āha-kiṃ punarāyuṣman subhūte asti taccittaṃ yaccittamacittam? subhūtirāha-kiṃ punarāyuṣman śāriputra tatra acittatāyāmastitā vā nāstitā vā vidyate vā upalabhyate vā? śāriputra āha-no hīdamāyuṣman subhūte| subhūtirāha-tadyadi āyuṣman śāriputra tatra acittatāyāmastitā vā nāstitā vā na vidyate vā nopalabhyate vā, tatkathamāyuṣmān śāriputra evamāha-asti taccittaṃ yaccittamacittamiti? śāriputra āha-sādhu sādhu āyuṣman subhūte| yathāpi nāma tvaṃ bhagavatā araṇāvihāriṇāmagratāyāṃ nirdiṣṭo nirdiśasi||



atha khalvāyuṣmān pūrṇo maitrāyaṇīputro bhagavantametadavocat-mahāsattvo mahāsattva iti yadidaṃ bhagavannucyate, mahāsaṃnāhasaṃnaddhaḥ sa sattvaḥ| mahāyānasaṃprasthito mahāyānasamārūḍhaśca sa sattvaḥ| tasmātsa mahāsattvo mahāsattva iti saṃkhyāṃ gacchati||



atha khalvāyuṣmān subhūtirbhagavantametadavocat-mahāsaṃnāhasaṃnaddho mahāyānasaṃnaddha iti yadidaṃ bhagavannucyate, kiyatā bhagavan bodhisattvo mahāsattvo mahāsaṃnāhasaṃnaddho bhavati ? bhagavānāha-iha subhūte bodhisattvasya mahāsattvasyaivaṃ bhavati-aprameyā mayā sattvāḥ parinirvāpayitavyā iti| asaṃkhyeyā mayā sattvāḥ parinirvāpayitavyā iti| na ca te santi yairye parinirvāpayitavyā iti| sa tāṃstāvataḥ sattvān parinirvāpayati| na ca sa kaścitsattvo yaḥ parinirvṛto yena ca parinirvāpito bhavati| tatkasya hetoḥ? dharmataiṣā subhūte dharmāṇāṃ māyādharmatāmupādāya syāt| yathāpi nāma subhūte dakṣo māyākaro vā māyākārāntevāsī vā caturmahāpathe mahāntaṃ janakāyamabhinirmimīte| abhinirmāya tasyaiva mahato janakāyasyāntardhānaṃ kuryāt| tatkiṃ manyase subhūte api nu tatra kenacitkaściddhato vā mṛto vā nāśito vā antarhito vā? subhūtirāha-no hīdaṃ bhagavan| bhagavānāha-evameva subhūte bodhisattvo mahāsattvo'prameyānasaṃkhyeyān sattvān parinirvāpayati| na ca sa kaścitsattvo yaḥ parinirvṛto yena ca parinirvāpito bhavati| sacedbodhisattvo mahāsattva imaṃ nirdeśamevaṃ nirdiśyamānaṃ śrutvā notrasyati na saṃtrasyati na saṃtrāsamāpadyate, iyatā ayaṃ subhūte bodhisattvo mahāsattvo mahāsaṃnāhasaṃnaddho veditavyaḥ||



atha khalvāyuṣmān subhūtirbhagavantametadavocat-yathāhaṃ bhagavan bhagavato bhāṣitasyārthamājānāmi, tathā asaṃnāhasaṃnaddho batāyaṃ bhagavan bodhisattvo mahāsattvo veditavyaḥ| bhagavānāha-evametatsubhūte, evametat| asaṃnāhasaṃnaddho batāyaṃ bodhisattvo mahāsattvo veditavyaḥ| tatkasya hetoḥ? akṛtā hi subhūte sarvajñatā avikṛtā anabhisaṃskṛtā| te'pi sattvā akṛtā avikṛtā anabhisaṃskṛtāḥ, yeṣāṃ sattvānāmarthāya ayaṃ saṃnāhasaṃnaddhaḥ||



evamukte āyuṣmān subhūtirbhagavantametadavocat-evametadbhagavan, evametatsugata| tatkasya hetoḥ? tathā hi bhagavan rūpamabaddhamamuktam| evaṃ vedanāsaṃjñāsaṃskārāḥ| tathā hi bhagavan vijñānamabaddhamamuktam| rūpatathatāpi bhagavan abaddhā amuktā| evaṃ vedanātathatāpi saṃjñātathatāpi saṃskāratathatāpi| vijñānatathatāpi bhagavan abaddhā amuktā||



atha khalvāyuṣmān pūrṇo maitrāyaṇīputra āyuṣmantaṃ subhūtimetadavocat-rūpamāyuṣman subhūte abaddhamamuktamiti vadasi| evaṃ vedanāsaṃjñāsaṃskārāḥ| vijñānamāyuṣman subhūte abaddhamamuktamiti vadasi| rūpatathatāpi āyuṣman subhūte abaddhā amukteti vadasi| evaṃ vedanātathatāpi saṃjñātathatāpi saṃskāratathatāpi| vijñānatathatāpyāyuṣman subhūte abaddhā amukteti vadasi| atha katamattadāyuṣman subhūte rūpaṃ yadrūpamabaddhamamuktamiti vadasi? evaṃ katamā sā vedanā, katamā sā saṃjñā, katame te saṃskārāḥ? katamattadāyuṣman subhūte vijñānaṃ yadvijñānamabaddhamamuktamiti vadasi? katamā sā āyuṣman subhūte rūpatathatā yā rūpatathatāpyabaddhā amukteti vadasi? evaṃ katamā sā vedanātathatā saṃjñātathatā saṃskāratathatā? katamā sā āyuṣman subhūte vijñānatathatā yā vijñānatathatāpyabaddhā amukteti vadasi? evamukte āyuṣmān subhūtirāyuṣmantaṃ pūrṇaṃ maitrāyaṇīputrametadavocat-yadāyuṣman pūrṇa māyāpuruṣasya rūpaṃ tadabaddhamamuktam | evaṃ yā māyāpuruṣasya vedanā, yā māyāpuruṣasya saṃjñā, ye māyāpuruṣasya saṃskārāḥ| yadāyuṣman pūrṇa māyāpuruṣasya vijñānaṃ tadabaddhamamuktam| yā āyuṣman pūrṇa māyāpuruṣasya rūpatathatā sā abaddhā amuktā| evaṃ yā māyāpuruṣasya vedanātathatā saṃjñātathatā saṃskāratathatā| yā āyuṣman pūrṇa māyāpuruṣasya vijñānatathatā sā abaddhā amuktā| tatkasya hetoḥ? asadbhūtatvādabaddhā amuktā, viviktatvādabaddhā amuktā, anutpannatvādabaddhā amuktā| ayaṃ sa bodhisattvasya mahāsattvasya mahāsaṃnāhasaṃnaddhasya mahāyānasaṃprasthitasya mahāyānasamārūḍhasya mahāsaṃnāho'saṃnāhaḥ| evamukte āyuṣmān pūrṇo maitrāyaṇīputrastūṣṇīmabhūt||



atha khalvāyuṣmān subhūtirbhagavantametadavocat-evaṃ bhagavan bodhisattvo mahāsattvo mahāsaṃnāhasaṃnaddhaḥ san mahāyānasaṃprasthito mahāyānasamārūḍho bhavati| katamacca tanmahāyānam? kathaṃ vā tatsaṃprasthito veditavyaḥ? kuto vā tanmahāyānaṃ niryāsyati? kena vā tanmahāyānaṃ saṃprasthitam? kva vā tanmahāyānaṃ sthāsyati? ko vā anena mahāyānena niryāsyati? evamukte bhagavānāyuṣmantaṃ subhūtimetadavocat-mahāyānamiti subhūte aprameyatāyā etadadhivacanam| aprameyamiti subhūte apramāṇatvena| yadapi subhūte evaṃ vadasi-kathaṃ vā tatsaṃprasthito veditavyaḥ? kuto vā tanmahāyānaṃ niryāsyati? kena vā tanmahāyānaṃ saṃprasthitam? kva vā tanmahāyānaṃ sthāsyati? ko vā anena mahāyānena niryāsyatīti? pāramitābhiḥ saṃprasthitaḥ| traidhātukānniryāsyati| yenārambaṇaṃ tena saṃprasthitam| sarvajñatāyāṃ sthāsyati| bodhisattvo mahāsattvo niryāsyati, api tu khalu punarna kutaścinniryāsyati| na kenāpi saṃprasthitam| na kvacitsthāsyati| api tu sthāsyati sarvajñatāyāmasthānayogena| nāpi kaścittena mahāyānena niryāto nāpi niryāsyati nāpi niryāti| tatkasya hetoḥ? yaśca niryāyāt, yena ca niryāyāt, ubhāvetau dharmau na vidyete nopalabhyete| evamavidyamāneṣu sarvadharmeṣu katamo dharmaḥ katamena dharmeṇa niryāsyati? evaṃ hi subhūte bodhisattvo mahāsattvo mahāyānasaṃnaddho mahāyānasaṃprasthito mahāyānasamārūḍho bhavati||



evamukte āyuṣmān subhūtirbhagavantametadavocat-mahāyānaṃ mahāyānamiti bhagavannucyate| sadevamānuṣāsuraṃ lokamabhibhavanniryāsyati ākāśasamatayā atimahattayā tanmahāyānam| yathā ākāśe aprameyāṇāmasaṃkhyeyānāṃ sattvānāmavakāśaḥ, evameva bhagavan asmin yāne aprameyāṇāmasaṃkhyeyānāṃ sattvānāmavakāśaḥ| anena bhagavan paryāyeṇa mahāyānamidaṃ bodhisattvānāṃ mahāsattvānām| naivāsyāgamo dṛśyate, naivāsya nirgamo dṛśyate, nāpyasya sthānaṃ saṃvidyate| evamasya bhagavan mahāyānasya naiva pūrvānta upalabhyate, nāpyaparānta upalabhyate, nāpi madhya upalabhyate| atha samaṃ bhagavaṃstadyānam| tasmānmahāyānaṃ mahāyānamityucyate| atha khalu bhagavānāyuṣmate subhūtaye sādhukāramadāt-sādhu sādhu subhūte| evametatsubhūte, evametat| evaṃ mahāyānamidaṃ bodhisattvānāṃ mahāsattvānām| atra śikṣitvā bodhisattvairmahāsattvaiḥ sarvajñatā anuprāptā, anuprāpsyate anuprāpyate ca||



atha khalvāyuṣmān pūrṇo maitrāyaṇīputro bhagavantametadavocat-ayaṃ bhagavan subhūtiḥ sthaviraḥ prajñāpāramitāyāḥ kṛtaśo'dhīṣṭo mahāyānamupadeṣṭavyaṃ manyate| atha khalvāyuṣmān subhūtirbhagavantametadavocat-nāhaṃ bhagavan prajñāpāramitāṃ vyatikramya mahāyānamavocam| bhagavānāha-no hīdaṃ subhūte| anulomatvaṃ subhūte prajñāpāramitāyā mahāyānamupadiśasi| evamukte āyuṣmān subhūtirbhagavantametadavocat-buddhānubhāvādbhagavan| api nu khalu punarbhagavan pūrvāntato bodhisattvo nopaiti, aparāntato bodhisattvo nopaiti, madhyato bodhisattvo nopaiti| tatkasya hetornopaiti? rūpāparyantatayā hi bodhisattvāparyantatā veditavyā, evaṃ vedanāsaṃjñā saṃskārāḥ| vijñānāparyantatayā hi bodhisattvāparyantatā veditavyā| rūpaṃ bodhisattva iti nopaiti| idamapi na vidyate nopalabhyate| evaṃ vedanāsaṃjñāsaṃskārāḥ| vijñānaṃ bodhisattva iti nopaiti, idamapi na vidyate nopalabhyate| evaṃ bhagavan sarveṇa sarvaṃ sarvathā sarvaṃ bodhisattvadharmamanupalabhamāno nāhaṃ bhagavan taṃ dharmaṃ samanupaśyāmi yasyaitannāmadheyaṃ yaduta bodhisattva iti| prajñāpāramitāmapi na samanupaśyāmi nopalabhe| sarvajñatāmapi na samanupaśyāmi nopalabhe| so'haṃ bhagavan sarveṇa sarvaṃ sarvathā sarvaṃ taṃ dharmamanupalabhamāno'samanupaśyan katamaṃ dharmaṃ katamena dharmeṇa katamasmin dharme'vavadiṣyāmi anuśāsiṣyāmi? buddha iti bhagavan nāmadheyamātrametat| bodhisattva iti bhagavan nāmadheyamātrametat| prajñāpāramiteti bhagavan nāmadheyamātrametat| tacca nāmadheyamanabhinirvṛttam| yathā ātmā ātmeti ca bhagavannucyate, atyantatayā ca bhagavannanabhinirvṛtta ātmā| evamasvabhāvānāṃ sarvadharmāṇāṃ katamattadrūpaṃ yadagrāhyamanabhinirvṛttam? katame te vedanāsaṃjñāsaṃskārāḥ? katamattadvijñānaṃ yadagrāhyamanabhinirvṛttam? evameteṣāṃ sarvadharmāṇāṃ yā asvabhāvatā, sā anabhinirvṛttiḥ| yā ca sarvadharmāṇāmanabhinirvṛttirna te dharmāḥ| tatkimanabhinirvṛttimanabhinirvṛttyāṃ prajñāpāramitāyāmavavadiṣyāmyanuśāsiṣyāmi? na cānyatra bhagavan anabhinirvṛttitaḥ sarvadharmā vā buddhadharmā vā bodhisattvadharmā vā upalabhyante, yo vā bodhāya caret| sacedbhagavan evaṃ bhāṣyamāṇe evaṃ deśyamāne evamupadiśyamāne bodhisattvasya mahāsattvasya cittaṃ nāvalīyate na saṃlīyate na viṣīdati na viṣādamāpadyate, nāsya vipṛṣṭhībhavati mānasaṃ na bhagnapṛṣṭhībhavati notrasyati na saṃtrasyati na saṃtrāsamāpadyate, evaṃ veditavyam-caratyayaṃ bodhisattvo mahāsattvaḥ prajñāpāramitāyām| bhāvayatyayaṃ bodhisattvo mahāsattvaḥ prajñāpāramitām| upaparīkṣate'yaṃ bodhisattvo mahāsattvaḥ prajñāpāramitām| upanidhyāyatyayaṃ bodhisattvo mahāsattvaḥ prajñāpāramitāmiti| tatkasya hetoḥ? yasmin hi samaye bhagavan bodhisattvo mahāsattvaḥ imān dharmān prajñāpāramitāyāṃ vyupaparīkṣate, tasmin samaye na rūpamupaiti, na rūpamupagacchati, na rūpasyotpādaṃ samanupaśyati, na rūpasya nirodhaṃ samanupaśyati| evaṃ na vedanāṃ na saṃjñāṃ na saṃskārān| na vijñānamupaiti, na vijñānamupagacchati, na vijñānasyotpādaṃ samanupaśyati, na vijñānasya nirodhaṃ samanupaśyati| tatkasya hetoḥ? tathā hi yo rūpasyānutpādo na tadrūpam| yo rūpasyāvyayo na tadrūpam| ityanutpādaśca rūpaṃ ca advayametadadvaidhīkāram| ityavyayaśca rūpaṃ ca advayametadadvaidhīkāram| yatpunaretaducyate rūpamiti, advayasyaiṣā gaṇanā kṛtā| evaṃ tathā hi yo vedanāyāḥ saṃjñāyāḥ saṃskārāṇām| tathā hi yo vijñānasyānutpādo na tadvijñānam, yo vijñānasyāvyayo na tadvijñānam| ityanutpādaśca vijñānaṃ ca advayametadadvaidhīkāram| ityavyayaśca vijñānaṃ ca advayametadadvaidhīkāram| yatpunaretaducyate vijñānamiti, advayastaiṣā gaṇanā kṛtā| evaṃ bhagavan prajñāpāramitāyāṃ sarvākāraṃ sarvadharmān vyupaparīkṣamāṇaḥ tasmin samaye na rūpamupaiti, na rūpamupagacchati, na rūpasyotpādaṃ samanupaśyati, na rūpasya nirodhaṃ samanupaśyati| evaṃ na vedanāṃ na saṃjñāṃ na saṃskārān| na vijñānamupaiti, na vijñānamupagacchati, na vijñānasyotpādaṃ samanupaśyati, na vijñānasya nirodhaṃ samanupaśyati| tatkasya hetoḥ? tathā hi yo rūpasyānutpādo na tadrūpam| yo rūpasyāvyayo na tadrūpam| ityanutpādaśca rūpaṃ ca advayametadadvaidhīkāram| ityavyayaśca rūpaṃ ca advayametadadvaidhīkāram| yatpunaretaducyate rūpamiti, advayasyaiṣā gaṇanā kṛtā| evaṃ tathā hi yo vedanāyāḥ saṃjñāyāḥ saṃskārāṇām| tathā hi yo vijñānasyānutpādo na tadvijñānam, yo vijñānasyāvyayo na tadvijñānam| ityanutpādaśca vijñānaṃ ca advayametadadvaidhīkāram| ityavyayaśca vijñānaḥ ca advayametadadvaidhīkāram| yatpunaretaducyate vijñānamiti, advayasyaiṣā gaṇanā kṛtā||



atha khalvāyuṣmān śāriputra āyuṣmantaṃ subhūtimetadavocat-tena hi yathāhamāyuṣmataḥ subhūterbhāṣitasyārthamājānāmi, tathā bodhisattvo'pyanutpādaḥ| yadi ca āyuṣman subhūte bodhisattvo'pyanutpādaḥ kiṃ bodhisattvo duṣkaracārikāṃ carati? yāni vā tāni sattvānāṃ kṛtaśo duḥkhānyutsahate pratyanubhavitum? evamukte āyuṣmān subhūtirāyuṣmantaṃ śāriputrametadavocat-nāhamāyuṣman śāriputra icchāmi bodhisattvaṃ mahāsattvaṃ duṣkaracārikāṃ carantam nāpi sa bodhisattvo mahāsattvo yo duṣkarasaṃjñayā carati| tatkasya hetoḥ? na hi āyuṣman śāriputra duṣkarasaṃjñāṃ janayitvā śakyo'prameyāṇāmasaṃkhyeyānāṃ sattvānāmarthaḥ kartum| api tu sukhasaṃjñāmeva kṛtvā| sarvasattvānāmantike mātṛsaṃjñāṃ pitṛsaṃjñāṃ putrasaṃjñāṃ duhitṛsaṃjñāṃ kṛtvā strīpuruṣeṣu| evametāḥ saṃjñāḥ kṛtvā bodhisattvo mahāsattvo bodhisattvacārikāṃ carati| tasmānmātṛsaṃjñā pitṛsaṃjñā putrasaṃjñā duhitṛsaṃjñā bodhisattvena mahāsattvena sarvasattvānāmantike yāvadātmasaṃjñā utpādayitavyā| yathā ātmā sarveṇa sarvaṃ sarvathā sarvaṃ sarvaduḥkhebhyo mocayitavyaḥ, evaṃ sarvasattvāḥ sarveṇa sarvaṃ sarvathā sarvaṃ sarvaduḥkhebhyo mocayitavyā iti| evaṃ ca sarvasattveṣu saṃjñā utpādayitavyā-mayaite sarvasattvā na parityaktavyāḥ| mayaite sarvasattvāḥ parimocayitavyā aparimāṇato duḥkhaskandhāt| na ca mayaiteṣu cittapradoṣa utpādayitavya antaśaḥ śataśo'pi chidyamāneneti| evaṃ hi bodhisattvena mahāsattvena cittamutpādayitavyam sacedevaṃcitto vihariṣyati, na duṣkarasaṃjñī cariṣyati, na duṣkarasaṃjñī vihariṣyati| punaraparamāyuṣman śāriputra bodhisattvena mahāsattvena evaṃ cittamutpādayitavyam-yathā sarveṇa sarvaṃ sarvathā sarvamātmā na vidyate nopalabhyate, evaṃ sarveṇa sarvaṃ sarvathā sarvaṃ sarvadharmā na saṃvidyante nopalabhyante| evamādhyātmikabāhyeṣu sarvadharmeṣu saṃjñā utpādayitavyā| sacedevaṃcittaścariṣyati, na duṣkarasaṃjñī cariṣyati, na duṣkarasaṃjñī vihariṣyati| yadapyāyuṣman śāriputra evamāha-anutpādo bodhisattvo iti| evametadāyuṣman śāriputra, evametat| anutpādo bodhisattva iti||



śāriputra āha-kiṃ punarāyuṣman subhūte bodhisattva evānutpādaḥ, utāho bodhisattvadharmā apyanutpādaḥ? subhūtirāha-bodhisattvadharmā api āyuṣman śāriputra anutpādaḥ śāriputra āha-kiṃ punarāyuṣman subhūte bodhisattvadharmā evānutpādaḥ, utāho sarvajñatāpyanutpādaḥ? subhūtirāha- sarvajñatāpyāyuṣman śāriputra anutpādaḥ| āha-kiṃ punarāyuṣman subhūte sarvajñataivānutpādaḥ, utāho sarvajñatādharmā apyanutpādaḥ? āha-sarvajñatādharmā apyāyuṣman śāriputra anutpādaḥ| āha-kiṃ punarāyuṣman subhūte sarvajñatādharmā evānutpādaḥ, utāho pṛthagjano'pyanutpādaḥ? āha-pṛthagjano'pyāyuṣman śāriputra anutpādaḥ| āha-kiṃ punarāyuṣman subhūte pṛthagjana evānutpādaḥ, utāho pṛthagjanadharmā apyanutpādaḥ? āha-pṛthagjanadharmā āpyāyuṣman śāriputra anutpādaḥ| evamukte āyuṣmān śāriputra āyuṣmantaṃ subhūtimetadavocat-yadyāyuṣman subhūte bodhisattvo'pyanutpādaḥ, bodhisattvadharmā apyanutpādaḥ, sarvajñatāpyanutpādaḥ, sarvajñatādharmā apyanutpādaḥ, pṛthagjano'pyanutpādaḥ, pṛthagjanadharmā apyanutpādaḥ, nanvāyuṣman subhūte anuprāptaiva ayatnena bodhisattvena mahāsattvena sarvajñatā bhavati| evamukte āyuṣmān subhūtirāyuṣmantaṃ śāriputrametadavocat-nāhamāyuṣman śāriputra anutpannasya dharmasya prāptimicchāmi, nāpyabhisamayam| nāpyanutpannena dharmeṇa anutpannā prāptiḥ prāpyate| āha-kiṃ punarāyuṣman subhūte anutpannena dharmeṇa anutpannā prāptiḥ prāpyate, utāho utpannena dharmeṇa anutpannā prāptiḥ prāpyate ? āha-kiṃ punarāyuṣman śāriputra anutpanno dharma utpannaḥ, utāho anutpanna eva dharmo'nutpannaḥ? āha-kiṃ punarāyuṣman subhūte utpāda eva dharmo'nutpādaḥ, utāho anutpādo dharma utpādaḥ? āha-utpādo dharmo'nutpādo dharma ityāyuṣman śāriputra na pratibhāti jalpitum | āha-anutpādo'pi te āyuṣman subhūte pratibhāti jalpitum| āha-anutpāda evāyuṣman śāriputra jalpaḥ| anutpāda eva āyuṣmān śāriputra pratibhāti| anutpāda eva āyuṣman śāriputra pratibhānam| evamevāyuṣman śāriputra atyantaṃ pratibhāti||



evamukte āyuṣmān śāriputra āyuṣmantaṃ subhūtimetadavocat-dhārmakathikānāmāyuṣmān subhūtiragratāyāṃ sthāpitavyaḥ| tatkasya hetoḥ? tathā hyāyuṣmān subhūtiḥ sthaviro yato yata eva paripraśnīkriyate, tatastata eva niḥsarati, dharmatāyāśca na calati, tāṃ ca dharmatāṃ na virodhayati| evamukte āyuṣmān subhūtirāyuṣmantaṃ śāriputrametadavocat-dharmataiṣā āyuṣman śāriputra bhagavataḥ śrāvakāṇāmaniśritadharmāṇām| te yato yata eva paripraśnīkriyante, tatastata eva niḥsaranti, dharmatāṃ ca na virodhayanti, dharmatāyāśca na vyativartante| tatkasya hetoḥ? yathāpi nāma aniśritattvātsarvadharmāṇām| evamukte āyuṣmān śāriputra āyuṣmantaṃ subhūtimetadavocat-sādhu sādhu āyuṣman subhūte| katamaiṣā sarvadharmāniśritapāramitā bodhisattvānāṃ mahāsattvānām? subhūtirāha-prajñāpāramitaiva āyuṣman śāriputra sārvayānikī, sarvadharmāniśritatayā sarvadharmāniśritapāramitā ca| iti hi yasya bodhisattvasya mahāsattvasya evaṃ gambhīrāyāṃ prajñāpāramitāyāṃ bhāṣyamāṇāyāmevaṃ deśyamānāyāmevamupadiśyamānāyāṃ na bhavati cittasya avalīnatvam, na bhavati kāṅkṣāyitatvam, na bhavati dhaṃdhāyitatvam, na bhavati cittasyānyathātvam, veditavyamayaṃ bodhisattvo mahāsattvo viharatyanena prajñāpāramitāvihāreṇa avirahitaścānena manasikāreṇeti||



atha khalvāyuṣmān śāriputra āyuṣmataṃ subhūtimetadavocat-kathamāyuṣman subhūte avirahito bodhisattvo mahāsattvo'virahito manasikāreṇa bhavati, yaḥ prajñāpāramitāvihāreṇa viharati? yadi hyāyuṣman subhūte bodhisattvo mahāsattvo'virahito manasikāreṇa bhavati, evaṃ sa virahitaḥ prajñāpāramitāvihāreṇa bhavati| yadi ca āyuṣman subhūte avirahito bodhisattvo mahāsattvaḥ prajñāpāramitāvihāreṇa bhavati, evaṃ sa virahito manasikāreṇa bhavati| yadi ca āyuṣman subhūte manasikāreṇāvirahito bodhisattvo mahāsattvaḥ, avirahita eva prajñāpāramitāvihāreṇa bhavati| evaṃ sati sarvasattvā apyavirahitā bhaviṣyanti prajñāpāramitāvihāreṇa| tatkasya hetoḥ? sarvasattvā api hyavirahitā manasikāreṇa viharanti||



evamukte āyuṣmān subhūtirāyuṣmantaṃ śāriputrametadavocat-sādhu sādhu āyuṣman śāriputra| api tu upālapsye tvā| artha eva tvāyuṣmatā śāriputreṇa bhūtapadābhidhānena parigṛhītaḥ| tatkasya hetoḥ? sattvāsvabhāvatayā āyuṣman śāriputra manasikārāsvabhāvatā veditavyā| sattvāsadbhāvatayā āyuṣman śāriputra manasikārāsadbhāvatā veditavyā| sattvaviviktatayā āyuṣman śāriputra manasikāraviviktatā veditavyā| sattvācintyatayā āyuṣman śāriputra manasikārācintyatā veditavyā| sattvānabhisaṃbodhanatayā āyuṣman śāriputra manasikārānabhisaṃbodhanatā veditavyā| sattvāyathābhūtārthābhisaṃbodhanatayā āyuṣman śāriputra manasikārāyathābhūtārthābhisaṃbodhanatā veditavyā| anena āyuṣman śāriputra evaṃrūpeṇa manasikāreṇa icchāmi bodhisattvaṃ mahāsattvaṃ viharantamanena vihāreṇeti||
