anirodhamanutpādamanucchedamaśāśvatam |

anekārthamanānārthamanāgamamanirgamam ||

yaḥ pratītyasamutpādaṃ prapañcopaśamaṃ śivam |

deśayāmāsa saṃbuddhastaṃ vande vadatāṃ varam ||



pratītyasamutpāda iti kasmāducyate ? sahetukaḥ sapratyayo nāhetuko nāpratyaya ityucyate | atha ca punarayaṃ pratītyasamutpādo dvābhyāṃ kāraṇābhyāmutpadyate | katamābhyāṃ dvābhyāṃ kāraṇābhyāmutpadyate ? hetūpanibandhataḥ pratyayopanibandhataśceti | so'pi dvividho draṣṭavyaḥ-bāhyaśca ādhyātmikaśca ||

tatra bāhyasya pratītyasamutpādasya hetūpanibandhaḥ katamaḥ ? yadidaṃ bījādaṅkuraḥ, aṅkurātpatram, patrātkāṇḍam, kāṇḍānnāḍam, nāḍāddaṇḍaḥ, daṇḍādgarbhaḥ, garbhācchūkaḥ, śūkātpuṣpam, puṣpātphalamiti | asati bīje aṅkuro na bhavati, evaṃ yāvat asati puṣpe phalaṃ na bhavati | sati tu bīje aṅkurasya abhinirvṛttirbhavati, evaṃ yāvat sati ca puṣpe phalasyābhinirvṛttirbhavati | tatra ca punarbījasya naivaṃ bhavati-ahamaṅkuraṃ nirvartayāmīti | etena nirīhatvam | aṅkurasyāpi naivaṃ bhavati-ahaṃ bījenābhinirvartita iti | evaṃ yāvatpuṣpasya naivaṃ bhavati-ahaṃ phalamabhinirvartayāmīti | phalasyāpi naivaṃ bhavati-ahaṃ puṣpeṇābhinirvartita iti | atha bīje sati ca kāraṇabhūte aṅkurasyābhinirvṛttiḥ prādurbhāvo bhavati, evaṃ yāvatpuṣpe sati phalasyābhinirvṛttiḥ prādurbhāvo bhavati | evaṃ ca bāhyasya pratītyasamutpādasya hetūpanibandho draṣṭavyaḥ ||

punaḥ kathaṃ bāhyasya pratītyasamutpādasya pratyayopanibandho draṣṭavyaḥ ? ṣaṇṇāṃ dhātūnāṃ samavāyāt | svabhāvadhāraṇāddhātuḥ | katameṣāṃ ṣaṇṇāṃ dhātūnāṃ samavāyāt ? yadidaṃ pṛthivyaptejovāyvākāśadhātusamanvayādbāhyasya pratītyasamutpādasya pratyayopanibandho draṣṭavyaḥ | tatra pṛthividhāturbījasya saṃdhāraṇakṛtyaṃ karoti, abdhāturbījaṃ snehayati, tejodhāturbījaṃ paripācayati, vāyudhāturbījamabhinirharati, ākāśadhāturbījasyānāvaraṇakṛtyaṃ karoti, ṛturapi bījasya pariṇāmakṛtyaṃ karoti | asatsu pratyayeṣu bījādaṅkurasyābhinirvṛttirna bhavati | yadā bāhyaśca pṛthivīdhāturavikalo bhavati, evamaptejovāyvākāśaṛtudhātavaścāvikalā bhavanti, tatasteṣāṃ sarveṣāṃ samavāyādbīje nirudhyamāne aṅkurasyābhinirvṛttirbhavati | tatra pṛthivīdhātornaivaṃ bhavati-ahaṃ bījasya dhāraṇākṛtyaṃ karomi iti | evaṃ yāvadṛtorapi naivaṃ bhavati-ahaṃ bījasya pariṇāmanākṛtyaṃ karomi iti | aṅkurasyāpi naivaṃ bhavati-ahamebhiḥ pratyayairjanita iti | atha punaḥ satsu pratyayeṣu teṣu bīje nirudhyamāne aṅkurasyābhinirvṛttirbhavati | sa cāyamaṅkuro na svayaṃkṛto na parakṛto nobhayakṛto neśvaranirmito na kālapariṇāmito na prakṛtisaṃbhūto nākāraṇādhīno nāpyahetusamutpannaśca | pṛthivyaptejovāyvākāśadhātusamavāyādbije nirudhyamāne aṅkurasyābhinirvṛttirbhavati | evaṃ bāhyasya pratītyasamutpādasya pratyayopanibandho draṣṭavyaḥ ||

tatra bāhyaḥ pratītyasamutpādaḥ pañcabhiḥ kāraṇairdraṣṭavyaḥ | katamaiḥ pañcabhiḥ ? na śāśvatato nocchedato na saṃkrāntitaḥ parīttahetuto vipulaphalābhinirvṛttitaḥ tatsadṛśānuprabandhataśceti | kathaṃ na śāśvatata iti ? yasmādanyo'ṅkuro'nyadbījam, na ca yadeva bījaṃ sa evāṅkuraḥ | atha ca punarbījaṃ nirudhyate, aṅkuraścotpadyate | ato na śāśvatataḥ || kathaṃ punarnocchedataḥ ? na ca pūrvaniruddhādbījādaṅkuro niṣpadyate, nāpyaniruddhādbījāt | api ca bījaṃ ca nirudhyate, tasminneva samaye'ṅkura utpadyate, tulādaṇḍonnāmāvanāmavat | ato nocchedataḥ || kathaṃ na saṃkrāntitaḥ ? visadṛśo bījādaṅkura ityato na saṃkrāntitaḥ || kathaṃ parīttahetuto vipulaphalābhinirvṛttitaḥ ? parīttaṃ bījamupyate (vyāptitvāt-avyā) vipulaṃ phalamabhinirvartayati, ityataḥ parīttahetuto vipulaphalābhinirvṛttitaḥ || kathaṃ tatsadṛśānubandhataḥ ? yādṛśaṃ bījamupyate tādṛśaṃ phalamabhinirvartayati, ityataḥ tatsadṛśānubandhataśceti | evaṃ bāhyaḥ pratītyasamutpādaḥ pañcabhiḥ kāraṇairdraṣṭavyaḥ ||

tatra punaścādhyātmikasya pratītyasamutpādasya hetūpanibandhaḥ katamaḥ ? yadidamavidyāpratyayāḥ saṃskārāḥ, yāvajjātipratyayaṃ jarāmaraṇamiti | avidyā cennābhaviṣyat, naivaṃ saṃskārāḥ prajñāsyante | evaṃ yāvadyadi jātirnābhaviṣyat (skandhānāṃ pañcānāṃ prādurbhāvo jātiriti), tatra jarāmaraṇaṃ na prajñāsyate | atha ca satyāmavidyāyāṃ saṃskārāṇāmabhinirvṛttirbhavatīti | tatrāvidyāyā naivaṃ bhavati-ahaṃ saṃskārānabhinirvartayāmīti | punaḥ sarvasaṃskārāṇāmapyevaṃ na bhavati-vayamavidyayā abhinirvartitā iti | evaṃ yāvajjāteḥ(skandhaprādurbhāvasya) naivaṃ bhavati-ahaṃ jarāmaraṇamabhinirvartayāmīti | jarāmaraṇasyāpi naivaṃ bhavati-ahaṃ jātyābhinirvartita iti | atha ca satyāmavidyāyāṃ saṃskārāṇāmabhinirvṛttiebhavati prādurbhāva eva, evaṃ yāvat jātyāṃ satyāṃ jarāmaraṇasyābhinirvṛttiḥ prādurbhāvo bhavati | evamādhyātmikasya pratītyasamutpādasya hetūpanibandho draṣṭavyaḥ ||

punaḥ kathamādhyātmikasya pratītyasamutpādasya pratyayopanibandho draṣṭavyaḥ ? yadidaṃ pṛthivyaptejovāyvākāśavijñānadhātūnāṃ samavāyādādhyātmikasya pratītyasamutpādasya pratyayopanibandho draṣṭavyaḥ | tatrādhyātmikasya pratītyasamutpādasya pṛthivīdhātuḥ katama iti ? yo'yaṃ kāyasya saṃśleṣataḥ (saṃparkāt) kaṭhinabhāvamabhinirvartayati, ayamucyate pṛthivīdhātuḥ || yaḥ punaḥ kāyasya parigrahakṛtvaṃ (svīkārasaṃcayakṛtyaṃ) karoti, ayamucyate abdhātuḥ || yaśca punaḥ kāyasya aśitaṃ pītaṃ bhakṣitaṃ paripācayati ayamucyate tejodhātuḥ || yaḥ kāyasya āśvāsapraśvāsakṛtyaṃ (vāyorākarṣaṇamāśvāsaḥ etatkṛtyaṃ) karoti, ayamucyate vāyudhātuḥ || yaḥ kāyasyāntaḥśauṣiryabhāvamabhinirvartayati, ayamucyate ākāśadhātuḥ || yo nāmarūpamabhinirvartayati naḍakalāpayogena cakṣurādipañcavidhavijñānakāya (vijñānasamūha)- saṃyuktaṃ sāsravaṃ (sāvaraṇaṃ) manovijñānam, ayamucyate vijñānadhātuḥ || asatsu pratyayeṣu kāyasyotpattirna bhavati | yadā cādhyātmikaḥ pṛthivīdhāturavikalo bhavati, evamaptejovāyvākāśavijñānadhātavaścāvikalā bhavanti, tatsteṣāṃ sarveṣāṃ samavāyātkāyasyotpattirbhavati | tatra pṛthivīdhātornaivaṃ bhavati-ahaṃ kāyasya kaṭhinatvamabhinirvartayāmīti | abdhātornaivaṃ bhavati-ahaṃ kāyasyānuparigrahaṃ karomīti | tejodhātornaivaṃ bhavati-ahaṃ kāyasya aśitapītakhāditaṃ paripācayāmīti | vāyudhātornaivaṃ bhavati-ahaṃ kāyasyāśvāsapraśvāsakṛtyaṃ karomīti | ākāśadhātornaivaṃ bhavati-ahaṃ kāyasyāntaḥśauṣiryabhāvamabhinirvartayāmīti | vijñānadhātornaivaṃ bhavati-ahaṃ kāyamabhinirvartayāmīti | kāyasyāpi naivaṃ bhavati-ahamebhiḥ pratyayaviśeṣairjanita iti || atha ca satsu pratyayeṣu kāyasyotpattirbhavati ||

tatra pṛthivīdhāturnātmā (na mukto na baddho) na jīvo na janturna manujo na mānavo na strī na puruṣo na napuṃsakaṃ na cāhaṃ na ca mama, nāpyanyasya kasyacit | (evaṃ abdhātustejodhāturvāyudhāturākāśadhāturvijñānadhāturnātmā.............. nāpyanyasya kasyacit ) ||

tatrāvidyā katamā ? yā eṣveva ṣaḍdhātuṣu ekasaṃjñā piṇḍasaṃjñā nityasaṃjñā dhruvasaṃjñā śāśvatasaṃjñā sukhasaṃjñā sattvajīvajantupoṣapuruṣapudgalamanujamānavasaṃjñā ahaṃkāramamakārasaṃjñā, evamādi vividhamajñānam, iyamucyate avidyeti | evamavidyāyāṃ satyāṃ viṣayeṣu rāgadveṣamohāḥ pravartante | tatra ye rāgadveṣamohā viṣayeṣu, amī ucyante saṃskārā iti || vastuprajñaptiḥ (indriyavijñānacetanā) vijñānam || vijñānasahajāścatvāra upādānaskandhāḥ, tannāmarūpam | nāmarūpasaṃśritānīndriyāṇi ṣaḍāyatanam | trayāṇāṃ dharmāṇāṃ saṃnipātaḥ sparśaḥ, (viṣayendriyavijñānasaṃnipāta ityarthaḥ) | sparśānubhāvo vedanā | vedanādhyavasānaṃ tṛṣṇā (adhyavasānaṃ kāṅkṣā sukhādyanubhavaḥ) | tṛṣṇāvaipulyamupādānam | upādānanirjātaṃ punarbhavajanakaṃ karma bhavaḥ | bhavahetukaḥ skandhaprādurbhāvo jātiḥ | skandhaparipāko jarā (skandhajīrṇatetyarthaḥ) | skandhavināśo maraṇam | mriyamāṇasya mūḍhasya sābhiṣvaṅgasyāntardāhaḥ śokaḥ | śokenālapanaṃ paridevanam | cakṣurādipañcavijñānakāyasaṃyuktaṃ asātānuśayanaṃ duḥkhapaścāttāpaṃ duḥkha(m) | manasikāra saṃprayuktaṃ mānasaṃ duḥkha(m) daurmanasyam | ye cāpyanye evamādayaḥ kleśāḥ, upakleśā upāyāsāḥ (manovikalpajātamāyāśāṭhyadainyakāmarāgādayaste sarve | peyālam) ||

punaraparam-tattve'pratipattiḥ mithyāpratipattirajñānam (saṃvṛtiparamārthayorvibhāgājñānaṃ ajñānam) | avidyāyāṃ satyāṃ trividhāḥ saṃskārā abhinirvartante-puṇyopagā apuṇyopagā aniñjyopagāśceti saṃbhāvyante avidyāpratyayāḥ saṃskārā iti | puṇyopagānāṃ saṃskārāṇāṃ puṇyopagameva vijñānaṃ bhavati, apuṇyopagānāṃ saṃskārāṇāṃ apuṇyopagameva vijñānaṃ bhavati, aniñjyopagānāṃ saṃskārāṇāmaniñjyo pagameva vijñānaṃ bhavati | idamucyate saṃskārapratyayaṃ vijñānamiti || tadevaṃ vijñānapratyayaṃ nāmarūpam || nāmarūpavivṛddhyā ṣaḍbhirāyatagadvāraiḥ kṛtyakriyā(ḥ) pravartante, tannāmarūpapratyayaṃ ṣaḍāyatanamucyate || ṣaḍbhya āyatanebhyaḥ ṣaṭ sparśakāyasamūhāḥ pravartante, ayaṃ ṣaḍāyatanapratyayaḥ sparśa ucyate || yajjātīyaḥ sparśo bhavati, tajjātīyā vedanā pravartate, iyaṃ sparśapratyayā vedanā ucyate || yastāṃ vedanā (vedayāti) viśeṣeṇāsvādayati abhinandati adhyavasa(sya ?)ti (kāṅkṣati) adhitiṣṭhati, sā vedanāpratyayā tṛṣṇetyucyate || āsvādanābhinandanaṃ ādhyavasāyasthānam, na me priyarūpasātarūpaiḥ pañcabhiḥ kāmaguṇairviyogo bhavatu aparityāgaḥ, bhūyobhūyaśca prārthanā, idaṃ tṛṣṇāpratyayamupādānamityucyate || evaṃ prārthayamānaḥ punarbhavajanakaṃ karma samutthāpayati kāyena manasā vācā, sa upādānapratyayo bhava ityucyate || yat karmanirjātānāṃ skandhānāmabhinirvṛttiḥ, sā bhavapratyayā jātirityucyate || yo jātyabhinirvṛttānāṃ skandhānāmupacayaparipākādvināśo bhavati, tadidaṃ jātipratyayaṃ jarāmaraṇamityucyate | ( peyālam, tatra avidyādiṣu śokaparidevaduḥkhadaurmanasyopāyāsāḥ peyālārthena nidarśitāḥ ) ||

tatra vijñānaṃ bījasvabhāvatvena hetuḥ | karma kṣetrasvabhāvatvena hetuḥ | avidyā tṛṣṇā ca kleśasvabhāvatvena hetuḥ | karmakleśā vijñānabījaṃ janayanti | tatra karma vijñānabījasya kṣetrakāryaṃ karoti, tṛṣṇā vijñānabījaṃ snehayati, avidyā vijñānabījamavakirati | satāmeṣāṃ pratyayānāṃ vijñānabījasya abhinirvṛttirbhavati | tatra karmaṇo naivaṃ bhavati-ahaṃ vijñānabījasya kṣetrakāryaṃ karomīti | tṛṣṇāyā api naivaṃ bhavati-ahaṃ vijñānabījaṃ snehayāmīti | avidyāyā api naivaṃ bhavati-ahaṃ vijñānabījamavakirāmīti | vijñānabījasyāpi naivaṃ bhavati-ahamebhiḥ pratyayai(pratītyotpādai)rjanita iti || api tu vijñānabījaṃ karmakṣetrapratiṣṭhitaṃ tṛṣṇāsnehābhisyanditamavidyāvakīrṇaṃ virohati | nāmarūpāṅkurasyābhinirvṛttirbhavati || sa cāsau nāmarūpāṅkuro na svayaṃkṛto na parakṛto nobhayakṛto neśvaranirmito na kālapariṇāmito na prakṛtisaṃbhūto nākāraṇādhīno nāpyahetusamutpannaḥ | atha na mātāpitṛsaṃyogāt ṛtusamavāyādanyeṣāṃ ca pratyayānāṃ samavāyādāsvādātprabuddhaṃ vijñānabījaṃ tatratropapattyā mātuḥ kukṣau nāmarūpāṅkuramabhinirvartayati, asvāmikeṣu (dharmanairātmyena) adharmeṣu (pudgalanairātmyena) amameṣu aparigraheṣu apratyarthikeṣu ākāśasameṣu māyālambanasvabhāveṣu, hetupratyayānāmavaikalyāt | (peyālam, peyālaśabdena sāvaśeṣaṃ nirdiśati) ||

tadyathā-pañcabhiḥ kāraṇaiścakṣurvijñānamutpadyate | katamaiḥ pañcabhiḥ ? cakṣuśca pratītya rūpaṃ ca ālokaṃ ca ākāśaṃ ca tajjamanasikāraṃ ca pratītya utpadyate cakṣurvijñānam | tatra cakṣurvijñānasya cakṣurāśrayakṛtyaṃ karoti, rūpamālambanakṛtyaṃ karoti, āloko'vabhāsakṛtyaṃ karoti, ākāśamanāvaraṇakṛtyaṃ karoti, tajjamanasikāraḥ samanvāharaṇakṛtyaṃ karoti | asatsu pratyayeṣu cakṣurvijñānaṃ notpadyate | yadā cakṣurādhyātmikamāyatanamavikalaṃ bhavati, evaṃ rūpālokākāśatajjamanasikārāścāvikalā bhavanti, tataḥ sarveṣāṃ samavāyāccakṣurvijñānasyotpattirbhavati | tatrāpi cakṣuṣo naivaṃ bhavati-ahaṃ cakṣurvijñānasya āśrayakṛtyaṃ karomīti | rūpasyāpi naivaṃ bhavati-ahaṃ cakṣurvijñānasya avalambanakṛtyaṃ karomīti | ālokasyāpi naivaṃ bhavati-ahaṃ cakṣurvijñānasya avabhāsakṛtyaṃ karomīti | ākāśasyāpi naivaṃ bhavati-ahaṃ cakṣurvijñānasya anāvaraṇakṛtyaṃ karomīti | tajjamanasikārasyāpi naivaṃ bhavati-ahaṃ cakṣurvijñānasya samanvāharaṇakṛtyaṃ karomīti | cakṣurvijñānasyāpi naivaṃ bhavati-ahamebhiḥ pratyayasamavāyairjanita iti | atha ca satsu pratyayeṣu cakṣurvijñānasyotpattiḥ prādurbhāvo bhavati | evaṃ śeṣāṇāmindriyāṇāṃ yathāyogaṃ kartavyam || tatra pratītyasamutpāde na kaściddharmo asmāllokātparalokaṃ saṃkrāmati, (iti śāśvatāntaniṣedhaḥ), asti ca karmaphalaprativijñaptihetupratyayānāmavaikalyāt | (peyālam) | yathā agnirupādānavaikalyānna jvalati, upādānāvaikalyācca jvalati, evameva karmakleśajanitaṃ vijñānabījaṃ tatratatropapattyā āyatanapratisaṃdhau mātuḥ kukṣau nāmarūpāṅkuramabhinirvartayati, asvāmikeṣu adharmeṣu aparigraheṣu apratyarthikeṣu ākāśasameṣu māyālakṣaṇasvabhāveṣu, hetupratyayānāmavaikalyāt | evaṃ ādhyātmikasya pratītyasamutpādasya pratyayopanibandho draṣṭavyaḥ ||

tatra ādhyātmikaḥ pratītyasamutpādaḥ pañcabhiḥ kāraṇairdraṣṭavyaḥ | katamaiḥ pañcabhiḥ ? yaduta na śāśvatataḥ, nocchedataḥ, na saṃkrāntitaḥ, parittahetutaḥ vipulaphalābhinirvṛttitaḥ, tatsadṛśānubandhataśceti | kathaṃ na śāśvatataḥ ? yasmādanye maraṇāntikāḥ skandhāḥ, anye aupapattyaṃśikāḥ skandhāḥ prādurbhavanti | na tu ya eva maraṇāntikāḥ skandhāḥ, ta eva aupapattyaṃśikāḥ skandhāḥ prādurbhavantīti na | ato hetorna śāśvatataḥ || kathaṃ punarnocchedataḥ ? na ca pūrvaniruddheṣu maraṇāntikeṣu skandheṣu aupapattyaṃśikāḥ skandhāḥ prādurbhavanti, nāpyaniruddheṣu | api tu maraṇāntikāḥ skandhā nirudhyante, tasminneva samaye aupapattikāśca skandhāḥ punarbhavanti, prādurbhavanti, tulādaṇḍonnāmāvanāmavat | ato nocchedataḥ || kathaṃ na saṃkrāntita iti ? visadṛśāt sattvanikāyāt visabhāgāḥ skandhā jātyantareṣvabhinirvartante, ato na saṃkrāntitaḥ || kathaṃ parīttahetuto vipulaphalābhinirvṛttitaḥ ? parīttaṃ karma kriyate, vipulaphalavipāko'nubhūyate, ataḥ parittahetuto vipulaphalābhinirvṛttitaḥ || kathaṃ tatsadṛśānuprabandhataḥ ? yathāvedanīyaṃ karma kriyate, tathāvedanīyo vipāko'nubhūyate, atastatsadṛśānuprabandhataśceti ||

yaḥ kaścidbhadanta śāradvatīputra imaṃ pratītyasamutpādaṃ bhagavatā tathāgatena samyakpraṇītaṃ yathābhūtaṃ samyakprajñayā satatasamitaṃ ajīvaṃ nirjīvaṃ yathāvad(vi)parītaṃ ajātaṃ abhūtaṃ akṛtaṃ asaṃskṛtaṃ apramitaṃ anāvaraṇaṃ śivaṃ abhayaṃ ahāryaṃ avyayaṃ avyupaśamasvabhāvaṃ paśyati, asatyato'saktataḥ asārato rogato gaṇḍataḥ śalyato'nityataḥ duḥkhataḥ śūnyato'nātmataḥ samanupaśyati, sa na pūrvāntaṃ pratisarati-kimahamabhūvamatīte'dhvani āhosvinnābhūvamatīte'dhvani, ko nvahamabhūvamatīte'dhvani | aparāntaṃ vā punarna pratisarati-kiṃ nu bhaviṣyāmyahamanāgate'dhvani, āhosvinna bhaviṣyāmyahamanāgate'dhvani, ko nvahaṃ bhaviṣyāmīti | pratyutpannaṃ vā punarna pratisarati-kiṃ nvidam, kathaṃsvididam, ki santaḥ ke bhaviṣyāma iti ||

āryadaśabhūmake'pyuktam- "tatrāvidyātṛṣṇokādānaṃ kleśavartmano vyavacchedaḥ, saṃskārā bhavaśca karmavartmano vyavacchedaḥ, pariśeṣaṃ duḥkhavartmano vyavacchedaḥ | (avidyāpratyayāḥ) saṃskārā ityeṣā pūrvāntikī apekṣā, vijñānaṃ yāvadvedaneti eṣā pratyutpannāpekṣā, tṛṣṇā yāvadbhava iti eṣā aparāntikī apekṣā, ata ūrdhvamasya pravṛttiriti | peyālam ||" "tasyaivaṃ bhavati-saṃyogāt saṃskṛtaṃ pravartate, visaṃyogānna pravartate | sāmagryā saṃskṛtaṃ pravartate, visāmagryā na pravartate | hanta, vayamevaṃ bahudoṣaduṣṭaṃ saṃskṛtaṃ viditvā asya saṃyogasya asyāśca sāmagryā vyavacchedaṃ kariṣyāmaḥ, na cātyantopaśamaṃ sarva-saṃskārāṇāmadhigamiṣyāmaḥ sattvaparipācanatāyai" iti || idaṃ saṃkṣepānmohaśodhanam ||

tattvaṃ adharasaṃvṛttyakṣaraṃ saṃvṛtisvabhāvasarvadharmānutpādajñānam | tadāha-rūpaṃ tu dvividham, -varṇataḥ saṃsthānataḥ | te ca viṃśatidhā, tatra nīlādi nava, dīrghādyekādaśa | etatsarvaṃ rūpaṃ pāramārthikaṃ nāstīti pratijñā, svarūpeṇa hetuḥ | svahetunā tathaiva janito yathāvat paramārthikaṃ tu | yathā jalacandraḥ iti dṛṣṭāntaḥ | svarūpeṇa nāsti rupamityasyāyamabhiprāyaḥ | "pararūpeṇa rūpaṃ nāsti, svarūpeṇa vā ubhayarūpeṇa vā anubhayarūpeṇa veti" śāstram || utpādakahetupakṣo vikalpaḥ ||



"na sat nāsat na sadasat na cāpyanubhayātmakam" | iti śāstram || || kartṛpakṣo vikalpaḥ, tatra vilomnā nidarśanam |

"na sannāsanna sadasanna cāpyanubhayātmakam |

catuḥkoṭivinirmuktaṃ tattvaṃ mādhyamikā viduḥ" ||

"na svati nāpi parato na dvābhyāṃ nāpyahetutaḥ |

utpannā jātu dṛśyante bhāvāḥ kvacana kecana" ||



tatra sato vidyamānasyotpādāyogāt vidyamānasyotpāde niravadhijanmaprasaṅgenānavasthā syāt | asadutpāde śaśaviṣāṇādīnāmutpādaprasaṅgāddhetoḥ prāk asaditi cet, tadeva cintyate-hetoḥ kimutpadyate sadasadvā ? ubhayātmakasyotpāde viruddhadharmayorekasvabhāvatābhyupagamaḥ kathaṃ syāt ? bhavatu viruddhadharmabandhanasvarūpaṃ ca pararūpanimittakam | tacca pararūpaṃ viruddhadharmābhyāsaḥ, sa ca bhedakaḥ | yatra parapratipattistatra kiṃ svarūpapratipattireva nāsti ? pratītirasti, na svarūpapratipattiḥ | iyameva pratītiriti cet, tarhi apratītireva pratītiḥ | kiṃ brūmaḥ ? atha ghaṭe paṭābhāvo'sti | ghaṭaḥ paṭo na bhavatīti cet, miśrapratītirapi nāsti | tasmāt ghaṭo bhāvābhāvātmakaḥ, ataḥ siddhāḥ dvirūpatā | satyam, yadi vyavahartavyaikaśarīratāṃ tyaktvā prasahya rūpasyābhāvasya kiṃcidrūpaṃ syāt, tatra hyananyagatikobhayābhāvasvarūpopalambhāt abhāvo vyavahriyate ghaṭasyeti | tasmānna dvisvabhāvasya janma | ahetukotpannaṃ sarvaṃ sarvasmādutpadyate | atha hetuśabdo na nityaikaheturapekṣitaḥ, tasyotpāde sarvadaiva udayavyayau syātām, nityaikahetūtpannāpekṣāyā ayogāt | parāpekṣāyāṃ so'pi anityaḥ, anityaṃ prati vikalpe sarvaṃ pūrvadāpadyate ||

ataḥ svasmāt svayamutpadyate, anyasmādvā ? nādyaḥ, prāganutpannaḥ svayamutpadyate | kimanutpannena rūpeṇa utpannena vā ? anutpannena rūpeṇa anutpanna evotpannaḥ, anutpādena rūpeṇotpādāyogāt | atha prāgabhāvaḥ anutpannaśabdavācyaḥ, tat kiṃ prāgabhāvaḥ svena rūpeṇotpadyate ? yadyevam, tadā abhāvanaṃ bhāvaḥ, paścādbhāva iti cet, tatra kimabhāva eva bhāvo bhavati ? evaṃ sati abhāvasya punaḥpunarutpāde na prayojanamutpaśyāmaḥ, anavadhirutpādaśceti pararūpeṇotpāde ca apūrvakotpāda evāṅgīkṛtaḥ syāt | na caivaṃ siddhāntaḥ, utpannena utpāde vā saṃsāreṣu utpādaviramābhāvaprasaṅgaḥ prayojanābhāvaśca | dvitīyo'pi na, anyasmādanyotpādāt | atha vā-svayameva anyarūpeṇa utpadyate, svātmani kāritravirodhaḥ, svātmani kriyāvirodhāt | na parata utpādaḥ, kutastatra siddhasya vā asiddhasya vā ? uktamatrottaram-siddhasya utpādena kim, asiddhasya utpāda eva nāsti | ityādinā'pi ubhayapakṣataḥ pratyekaṃ ye prasahu(jya ?)nte, dvayorbhāve kathaṃ na bhavati iti nyāyāt || nāpyahetutaḥ, sarvatra sarvadotpādaprasaṅgāt, tathā anutpādaprasaṅgācca | kuta etat ? asmātpramāṇāt | tadyathā-yat svatantraṃ na tat kādācitkam, yathā anyā sāmagrī | svātantryaṃ ca vivādapadam | tasmāt kādācitkatayā paratantratā vyāptā | yat kādācitkaṃ tatparatantram, yathā kuśūlatalanimīlitaṃ bījamaṅkurajananaṃ prati | kādācitkāśca bhāvāḥ | iti vivādapadam | yat paratantraṃ tatpratītyasamutpannam, yathā tadeva vījam | paratantrāśca bhāvā vivādapadam | yatpratītyotpannaṃ tannotpannaṃ svabhāvataḥ | yathā jalacandraḥ pratītyotpannaśca | paratantrāśca bhāvā vivādapadam ||

āryacandrapradīpasūtre -

yaḥ pratyayairjāyati sa hyajāto

na tasya utpāda sabhāvato'sti |

yaḥ pratyayādhīnu sa śūnya uktaḥ

yaḥ śūnyatāṃ jānati so'pramattaḥ ||

iti vacanaṃ dhāryaṃ manasikāryaṃ sarvathā sarvadā sarvadarśibhiḥ ||
