8 dhyānapāramitā nāma aṣṭamaḥ paricchedaḥ|



tadevaṃ kṣānteranantaraṃ vīryamabhidhāya yaduktam-

saṃśrayeta vanaṃ tataḥ|

samādhānāya yujyeta bhāvayeccāśubhādikam||

[śikṣā. sa. kārikā-20]

iti, tad vardhayitvaivamityādinā pratipādayitumupakramate-

vardhayitvaivamutsāhaṃ samādhau sthāpayenmanaḥ|



evamuktapratipakṣasya āsevanādinā vipakṣamunmūlya vīryaṃ vardhayitvā anābhogavāhitayā sthirīkṛtya samādhau samādhāne cittaikāgratāyāṃ sthāpayenmanaḥ, tatra niveśayet| āropayediti yāvat | kimarthamityāha-

vikṣiptacittastu naraḥ kleśadaṃṣṭrāntare sthitaḥ||1||



turiti hetau| yasmāt samādhānamantareṇa vikṣiptacittaḥ asamāhitacittasamudācāraḥ vīryavānapi naraḥ puruṣaḥ kleśānāṃ rākṣasānāmiva daṃṣṭrāntare madhye sthitaḥ, kavalīkṛta eva tairāste| tasmāt||



tatra tāvat samādhivipakṣaṃ nirākartuṃ pīṭhikābandhaṃ racayannāha-

kāyacittavivekena vikṣepasya na saṃbhavaḥ|

tasmāllokaṃ parityajya vitarkān parivarjayet||2||



kāyaviveko janasaṃparkavivarjanatā| cittavivekaḥ kāmādivitarkavivarjanatā| iti| kāyacittayorviveke nirāsaṅgatayā vikṣepasya tayorunnatatāyāḥ| ālambanāpratiṣṭhānasyeti yāvat| na saṃbhavaḥ na prādurbhāvaḥ| yata evam, tasmāllokaṃ svajanabāndhavādilakṣaṇaṃ parityajya vihāya pūrvaṃ vitarkāścittavikṣepahetūn parivarjayet parityajet||



tatra lokāparityāgahetuṃ tāvannirākartumupadarśayannāha-

snehānna tyajyate loko lābhādiṣu ca tṛṣṇayā|

tasmādetatparityāge vidvānevaṃ vibhāvayet||3||



ātmātmīyagrahapravartito'bhiṣvaṅgaḥ snehaḥ| tasmānna tyajyate lokaḥ| lābhādiṣu ca tṛṣṇayā| ādiśabdāt satkārayaśaḥślokādayaḥ parigṛhyante| teṣu tṛṣṇayā pralobhena| cakārānna tyajyate loke iti samuccīyate| yata etatkāraṇamaparityāgasya, tasmādetasya snehasya lobhādīnāṃ vā| yadi vā lokasya parityāganimittaṃ vidvān vicakṣaṇaḥ| evamiti vakṣyamāṇaṃ vibhāvayet||



tadevāha-

śamathena vipaśyanāsuyuktaḥ

kurute kleśavināśamityavetya|

śamathaḥ prathamaṃ gaveṣaṇīyaḥ

sa ca loke nirapekṣayābhiratyā||4||



śamathaḥ cittaikāgratālakṣaṇaḥ samādhiḥ| tena suyukta iti apoddhṛtya ihāpi yojanīyam| yadi vā hetvarthe tṛtīyā| śamathena hetunā vipaśyanāsuyuktaḥ| sahārthe vā| śamathena sārdhaṃ vipaśyanāsuyukta iti| vipaśyanā yathābhūtatattvaparijñānasvabhāvā prajñā| tayā suyuktaḥ| yuganaddhavāhimārgayogena kurute kleśānāṃ vināśaṃ prahāṇamityevamavetya jñātvā kleśavimumukṣuṇā śamathaḥ prathamamādau gaveṣaṇīyaḥ| utpādya ityarthaḥ| tadanantaraṃ vipaśyanā|



samāhito yathābhūtaṃ prajānātītyavadanmuniḥ|

śamācca na caleccittaṃ bāhyaceṣṭānivartanāt||iti|

sa ca śamathaḥ loke lokaviṣaye nirapekṣayā abhiratyā| abhiratiṃ pariharata eva utpadyate nānyathā||



tāmeva abhiratinirapekṣatāmuttaraprabandhena darśayitumāha-

kasyānityeṣvanityasya sneho bhavitumarhati|

yena janmasahasrāṇi draṣṭavyo na punaḥ priyaḥ||5||



kasya sacetanasya svayameva anityasya anityeṣu putradārādiṣu sneho bhavitumarhati yujyate| kena hetunā ? yena kāraṇena janmanāṃ sahasrāṇi anekāni janmāni aparyantasaṃsāre saṃsaratā kadācidapi draṣṭavyo na punaḥ priyaḥ| prīṇātīti priya ucyate||



tadapi ca asminnāsti ityāha-

apaśyannaratiṃ yāti samāghau na ca tiṣṭhati|

na ca tṛpyati dṛṣṭvāpi pūrvavadbādhyate tṛṣā||6||



yadā tāvanna paśyati tam, tadā ayamaratimadhṛtiṃ yāti| tenaiva asaumanasyena samākulitacittatvāt samādhau na ca tiṣṭhati, naiva sthito bhavati| tamavalambitumaśakta ityarthaḥ| atha yadāpi priyadarśanamasya jāyate, tadāpi na ca tṛpyati| dṛṣṭvāpi punaradhikataraṃ bādhyate tṛṣā| taddarśanābhilāṣeṇa pūrvavat adarśanakāla iva pīḍyate||



api ca| sarvānarthanidānaṃ priyasaṃgatikaraṇamityupadarśayannāha-

na paśyati yathābhūtaṃ saṃvegādavahīyate|

dahyate tena śokena priyasaṃgamakāṅkṣayā||7||



yathābhūtaviparītaṃ doṣaguṇānna paśyati na jānāti| priyasaṃgamakāṅkṣayā tenaiva mohena saṃvegādavahīyate bhraṣṭo bhavati| tathā tenaiva abhiṣvaṅgeṇa dahyate tena śokena muhūrtamapi vicchede| tathā tena śokena dahyate paritapyate tenaiva manastāpena| priyasaṃgamakāṅkṣayā priyasya saṃgamaḥ saṃprayogaḥ, tasminnākāṅkṣā tṛṣṇā, tayā hetubhūtayā, punaruttarottaramadhikādhikaprārthanayā||



ito'pyanarthahetureva tatsaṃgatirityāha-

taccintayā mudhā yāti hrasvamāyurmuhurmuhuḥ|



tasya priyasya tatsaṃgamasya vā cintayā tadguṇānāṃ sadā paribhāvanayā| kathaṃ nāma mamāsya priyasaṃgamasya vicchittirmā bhūditi tallīnacittatayā vā| niṣphalameva āyuḥsaṃskārāḥ pratikṣaṇaṃ kṣīyante| na ca kvacidapi kuśalakarmaṇi samupayujyante iti bhāvaḥ| na ca yadarthamāyuḥ kśayamupanīyate tanmitraṃ sthiramityata āha-

aśāsvatena dharmeṇa dharmo bhraśyati śāśvataḥ||8||



avaśyaṃ bhaṅguratayā anavasthānādasthāvareṇa mitreṇa hetunā dharmo bhraśyati parihīyate śāśvato dīrghakālāvasthāyī saṃbhārāntargamāt phalamahattvācca||



syādetat-avaśyaṃ hi kiṃcittatsaṃgamāddhitasukhanibandhanaṃ prāpyate| tatkimiti sarvathā tanniṣidhyata ityatrāha-



bālaiḥ sabhāgacarito niyataṃ yāti durgatim|

neṣyate viṣabhāgaśca kiṃ prāptaṃ bālasaṃgamāt||9||



nāpi tatsaṃgamādanarthamantareṇa kiṃcidaparamiha labhyate| tathā hi bālaiḥ pṛthagjanaiḥ saha sabhāgacaritaḥ samānaśīlaḥ niyatamavaśyaṃ yāti durgatim, tatkarmasadṛśasamācaraṇat, āryadharmabahirbhāvācca| atha āryadharmānuvartanāt tato'sadṛśakarmakārī syāt, tadā neṣyate dviṣyate visabhāgaśceti asamānacaritaḥ| bālairiti saṃbandhaḥ| atra kartari tṛtīyā| iti ubhayalokabādhanāt kiṃ prāptamadhigataṃ hitasukhanimittaṃ bālasaṃgamāt ? naiva kiṃcidityarthaḥ||



na ca anukūlacaritairapi ātmasātkartuṃ śakyā ityāha-

kṣaṇādbhavanti suhṛdo bhavanti ripavaḥ kṣaṇāt|

toṣasthāne prakṛpyanti durārādhāḥ pṛthagjanāḥ||10||



kṣaṇamātreṇa suhṛdo mitrāṇi bhavanti kiṃcit svaprayojanamuddiśya, kṣaṇādeva ca viṣamābhiprāyatvāt kiṃcinnimittamālambya ta eva ripavaḥ śatravo bhavanti| na ca nimittamapyeṣāṃ niyatam, yat kadācittoṣasthāne prītiviṣaye viparyāsavaśāt prakupyanti| iti durārādhā duḥkhenārādhayituṃ śakyāḥ pṛthagjanāḥ anāryāḥ||



aparamapi bāladharmaṃ tadvivarjanārthamupadarśayannāha-

hitamuktāḥ prakupyanti vārayanti ca māṃ hitāt|

atha na śrūyate teṣāṃ kupitā yānti durgatim||11||



idaṃ karaṇīyam, idamakaraṇīyam, ityuktāḥ abhihitāḥ prakupyanti vidviṣanti, na punastaduktaṃ hitamiti gṛhṇanti| pratyuta vārayanti ca māṃ hitāt, kiṃ tava anena kevalaprayāsaphalānuṣṭhāneneti tatra pravṛttaṃ māṃ niṣedhayanti tataḥ| atha na śrūyate teṣāṃ bālānām| vacanamiti śeṣaḥ| yadi tadvacanamavagamya hite pravṛttiḥ kriyate, tadā kupitā asmadvacanānnāyaṃ nivartate iti tasmin hitakarmakāriṇi kopaṃ kṛtvā tatkarmapreritā durgatiṃ prayānti||



imaṃ ca bāladharmamaparaṃ tadvivekāya bhāvayedityupadarśayannāha-

īrṣyotkṛṣṭātsamāddūndvo hīnānmānaḥ stutermadaḥ|

avarṇātpratighaśceti kadā bālāddhitaṃ bhavet||12||



ātmano vidyākuladhanādibhirutkṛṣṭāduttamādīrṣyā parasaṃpattyasahanatā jāyate| arthātteṣveva| ātmanā samāt tulyād dvandvo vivādaḥ| ātmano hīnādadhamānmānaḥ, ahamitaḥ śreṣṭha ityabhimananāt| stutermadaḥ sadasatāṃ tadguṇānāmākhyānādahaṃ mahīyānityāropādavalepaḥ| avarṇādātmano doṣakīrtanaśravaṇād dveṣaśca| arthādavarṇavādini| ityevaṃ kadā kasmin kāle bāladdhitaṃ bhavet ? na kadācidityarthaḥ||



ito'pi bālān parihṛtya viharediti pratipādayitumāha-

ātmotkarṣaḥ parāvarṇaḥ saṃsāraratisaṃkathā|

ityādyavaśyamaśubhaṃ kiṃcidbālasya bālataḥ||13||



ekasya bālasya aparasmādbālāt ityevamādi kiṃcidaśubhamakuśalamavaśyaṃ niyamena jāyate| kiṃ tat ? ātmana utkarṣaḥ prakarṣaḥ śrutajñānādipraśaṃsayā| pareṣāmavarṇo doṣaprakāśanaṃ śrutādipracchādanam| yā saṃsāre ratirabhirāmaḥ tasyāḥ saṃkathā saṃvarṇanam, kāmaguṇānāṃ saṃpramodanāt| ityādi evaṃprakāram||



evaṃ tasyāpi tatsaṅgāttenānarthasamāgamaḥ|



aparasyāpi tatsaṅgāt dvitīyasya saṅgāt kiṃcidaśubhamavaśyaṃ syāt| yena evam, tena kāraṇena anarthasya akalyāṇasya samāgamaḥ saṃprāptireva ayaṃ bālasamāgama| ata āryadharmānuśikṣaṇārtham-

ekākī vihariṣyāmi sukhamakliṣṭamānasaḥ||14||



bālajanasaṃgamaviyuktaḥ advitīyaḥ vihariṣyāmi| tadvivekāt sukham| kriyāviśeṣaṇametat| katham ? akliṣṭamānasa iti tatsaṃparkavivarjanāt tatkṛtasaṃkleśābhāvāt| pūrvasmin hetupadametat| yadi vā| sukhaṃ kāyikam| akliṣṭamānasa iti mānasam||



tasmādvālajanasaṃparkajaduḥkhaparijihīrṣuṇā tatsaṃgatirna kāryeti kathayitumāha-

bālāddūraṃ palāyeta prāptamārādhayetpriyaiḥ|

na saṃstavānubandhena kiṃ tūdāsīnasādhuvat||15||



bālāt sarvato dūramārāt palāyeta apasaret, yathā taiḥ saha kācidapi saṃgatirna syāt| atha kathaṃciddaivayogādbhavet, tadā prāptaṃ militamārādhayet ārāgayet| priyaiḥ prītikarairupacāraiḥ| ārādhayannapi na saṃstavānubandhena na paricayāsattikaraṇābhiprāyeṇa| yadi vā, na saṃstavānunayena, kiṃ tarhi pratighānunayavarjanādudāsīnasādhuvat sadācāramadhyasthajanavat||



idamaparaṃ sādhujanasamācāraṃ śikṣayitumāha-

dharmārthamātramādāya bhṛṅgavat kusumānmadhu|

apūrva iva sarvatra vihariṣyāmyasaṃstutaḥ||16||



dharmāyedaṃ dharmārtham, tadeva kevalaṃ tanmātram| tadādāya gṛhītvā| sārādānaṃ kṛtvetyarthaḥ| bhṛṅgavat cañcarīkavat| madhu makarandam| yadi vā| dharma eva arthaḥ prayojanamasya cīvarapiṇḍapātāderiti vigrahaḥ| bālasaṃparkavimukhaḥ apūrva iva navacandropamaḥ sarvatra deśe sthāne vā vihariṣyāmi| asaṃstutaḥ aparicitaḥ| tannivāsijanaiḥ pratyāsattirahita ityarthaḥ||



tadevaṃ priyasaṃgatikāraṇaṃ snehamapākṛtya sāṃprataṃ lābhāditṛṣṇā lokāparityāgakāraṇaṃ parihartavyetyupadarśayannāha-

lābhī ca satkṛtaścāhamicchanti bahavaśca mām|

iti martyasya saṃprāptānmaraṇājjāyate bhayam||17||



lābho vidyate'syeti cīvarapiṇḍapātādilābhayogāllābhī ca aham| satkṛtaśca pūjito janaiḥ| icchanti abhilaṣanti bahavaśca aneke mām| bahujanasaṃmato'hamityarthaḥ| ityevaṃ cintayataḥ evaṃ martyasya manuṣyasya maraṇājjāyate bhayam| kiṃbhūtāt? saṃprāptāt acintitopasthitāt||



yatra yatra ratiṃ yāti manaḥ sukhavimohitam|

tattatsahasraguṇitaṃ duḥkhaṃ bhūtvopatiṣṭhati||18||



tasmātprājño na tāmicchedicchāto jāyate bhayam|

svayameva ca yātyetadvairyaṃ kṛtvā pratīkṣatām||19||



bahavo lābhino'bhūvan bahavaśca yaśasvinaḥ|

saha lābhayaśobhiste na jñātāḥ kka gatā iti||20||



māmevānye jugupsanti kiṃ prahṛṣyāmyahaṃ stutaḥ|

māmevānye praśaṃsanti kiṃ viṣīdāmi ninditaḥ||21||



nānādhimuktikāḥ sattvā jinairapi na toṣitāḥ|

kiṃ punarmādṛśairajñaistasmātkiṃ lokacintayā||22||



* * * * * * iti sarvadā avaśyaṃbhāvimaraṇamanasikārāt kiṃ lokasya bālajanasya cintayā caritaparibhāvanayā ? na kiṃcit prayojanam, anupādeyatvāditi bhāvaḥ||



itthamapi bālajanasaṃgatirduḥkhaheturevetyāha-

nindantyalābhinaṃ sattvamavadhyāyanti lābhinam|

prakṛtyā duḥkhasaṃvāsaiḥ kathaṃ tairjāyate ratiḥ||23||



nindanti kutsayanti alābhinaṃ lābhavirahitaṃ sattvam| akṛtapuṇyo'yaṃ varākaḥ, yena ayaṃ piṇḍapātādimātrakamapi naiva aparikleśena prāpnotīti| lābhinaṃ punaravadhyāyanti prasannairdāyakadānapatibhiścīvarādipradānaiḥ pūjitam| kuhanādibhirapi dāyakadānapatīn prasādyacīvarādilābhamāsādayati| anyathā kimanyasya tathāvidhā guṇā na santi, yena ayameva varaṃ labhate nāparaḥ, iti asmiṃścittamaprasādayanti, vacanaṃ caivamudgiranti| iti ubhayathāpi tebhyo na cetasi śāntirasti| tadevaṃ prakṛtyā svabhāvena duḥkhahetutvāt duḥkhaṃ saṃvāso yeṣāṃ bālānāṃ te tathā| taistathāvidhaiḥ saha saṃvasataḥ kathaṃ jāyate ratiḥ ? naivetyarthaḥ||



[na ca bālo dṛḍhasuhṛdbhavati| yasmānna bāla ityāha-

na bālaḥ kasyacinmitramiti coktaṃ tathāgataiḥ|

na svārthena vinā prītiryasmādvālasya jāyate||24||



svārthadvāreṇa yā prītirātmārtha prītireva sā|

dravyanāśe yathodvegaḥ sukhahānikṛto hi saḥ||25||



mitramiti suhṛt| uktaṃ tathāgatenetyāgameṣu uktam| kasmāt ? yasmāt svaprayojanena vinā bālasya na karhicidapi prītirjāyate| tasmāt tadabhāve viparyayaḥ| tadapi bālasaṃvāse satyapi na nirdiṣṭam (?) tatra maitrīkṛtenāpi pṛthagjanasya prītiraśakyā||



evaṃ sati tatsaṃvāsodbhūtadoṣaparihārārthaṃ sukhena] saumanasyena ca vihārāya vivekakāmena mayā araṇyaniṣevaṇāya yatitavyamiti tadanuśaṃsāṃ darśayannāha-

nāvadhyāyanti taravo na cārādhyāḥ prayatnataḥ

kadā taiḥ sukhasaṃvāsaiḥ saha vāso bhavenmama||26||



taravo vṛkṣāḥ nāvadhyāyanti, na ca ārādhyāḥ ārādhayitavyāḥ prayatnata iti| tadanukūlasamācaraṇena araṇyādiṣu vasatā viṣamābhiprāyarahitatvāt| iti kadā taistarubhiḥ saha vāso bhavenmama ? kibhūtaiḥ sukhasaṃvāsairityāśaṃsati| sukhahetutvāt sukhamiti pūrvavat||



punarekākitāvihāre'bhiratimāha-

śūnyadevakule sthitvā vṛkṣamūle guhāsu vā|

kadānapekṣo yāsyāmi pṛṣṭhato'navalokayan||27||



śūnyadevakule janasaṃkīrṇatārahite sthitvā nivasya rātrimekāmuṣitvā dve vā, yathābhilāṣaṃ vṛkṣamūle vṛkṣasyādhastāt| parvatādiṣu guhyapradeśā guhāḥ, tatra vā| anapekṣaḥ kadā yāsyāmi ? āsaṅgasthānasya kasyacidabhāvāt| ata eva pṛṣṭhato'navalokayan paścādanirvṛterabhāvāt||



punaranyathā prāha-

ayameṣu pradeśeṣu vistīrṇeṣu svabhāvataḥ|

svacchandacāryanilayo vihariṣyāmyahaṃ kadā||28||



kenacidvirodhakāriṇā purvamasvīkṛteṣu| vistīrṇeṣu vipuleṣu saumanasyakāriṣu| svabhāvataḥ svayameva tathāvidheṣu, na kṛtrimatayā| vihariṣyāmyahaṃ kadā ityāśāste| evaṃ viharato yatsukhaṃ tadupadarśayannāha-svacchanda cārī na paratantravṛttiḥ| anilayaḥ na vidyate nilayaḥ ālayaḥ nirāsaṅgatayā yasyeti anilayaḥ, kvacidapi svīkārābhāvāt| tathābhūtaḥ pratibaddho na kasyacit| śeṣaḥ subodhaḥ||



punarevamalpecchatayā āśaṃsanīyamityādarśayannāha-

mṛtpātramātravibhavaścaurāsaṃbhogacīvaraḥ|

nirbhayo vihariṣyāmi kadā kāyamagopayan||29||



mṛtpātraṃ muṇmayaṃ bhikṣābhājanam, tadeva kevalaṃ tanmātraṃ vibhavo dhanaṃ yasyeti| tathā caurāṇāmasaṃbhogyaṃ pāṃsukūlāmbarakṛtatvādaparibhogyam| anupayuktamiti yāvat| tādṛśaṃ cīvaraṃ vāso yasya sa tathā| etaddvayamapi parairahāryam| ata eva nirbhayaḥ kāyajīvitanirapekṣatayā ca| tadeva darśayati-kāyamagopayanniti| bāhyādhyātmikasya parigrahāgrahasyābhāvāt asaṃrakṣayan||



iyamanityatā ca āsaṅgaparityāgasya kāraṇaṃ sarvadā sevitavyeti vṛttatritayenopadarśayannāha-

kāyabhūmiṃ nijāṃ gatvā kaṅkālairaparaiḥ saha|

svakāyaṃ tulayiṣyāmi kadā śatanadharmiṇam||30||



ayameva hi kāyo me evaṃ pūtirbhaviṣyati|

śṛgālā api yadgandhānnopasarpeyurantikam||31||



asyaikasyāpi kāyasya sahajā asthikhaṇḍakāḥ|

pṛthak pṛthaggamiṣyanti kimutānyaḥ priyo janaḥ||32||



kāyabhūmiṃ nijāmiti śmaśānabhūmim, ciramapi sthitvā tatparyavasānatvāccharīrasya| kaṅkālairaparairiti pūrvamṛtānāmasthibhiḥ pañjaraiḥ| śatanaṃ pūtibhāvaḥ, taddharmiṇaṃ tatsvabhāvam| tāmeva tulanāṃ kathayati-ayameva hītyādinā| evamiti aparakaṅkālagalitaśarīrasādṛśyamucyate| pūtiḥ kutsito bhaviṣyati| kīdṛśa ityāha-śṛgālā ityādi| atidurgandhatayā tadāhāraparāyaṇānāṃ gomāyūnāmapi duḥsaha iti| itthamapi priyasya saṃgatiranityetyāha-asyaikasyāpītyādi| asya upāttasyaikasya ekatvena kalpitasyāpi kāyasya| sahajāḥ kāyena sahajātāḥ asthikhaṇḍakāḥ pṛthak pṛthagbhaviṣyanti| visaṃyuktā bhaviṣyantītyarthaḥ| kimutānyaḥ priyo janaḥ pṛthag na bhaviṣyati, yaḥ sarvadā visaṃyukta evāste||



syādetat-sukhaduḥkhasahāyāḥ sadā mamaite putradārādayaḥ| tadeṣu yukta evānunayaḥ kartumityāha-

eka utpadyate janturmriyate caika eva hi|

nānyasya tadvayathābhāgaḥ kiṃ priyairvighnakārakaiḥ||33||



janmamaraṇayorna kaścit kasyacidduḥkhasaṃbhāgī syāt| antarāle ca svakarmopahitameva sukhaduḥkhamupabhuñjate sarve| ato'bhimānamātramevaitat| yato nānyasya tadātmano vyatiriktasya tadvayathābhāgaḥ| tasyānunayakāriṇo vyathā, tasyā bhāgaḥ pratyaṃśo jāyate, tasya sā, tenaiva tasyāḥ saṃvedyamānatvāt| ato na kiṃcit prayojanaṃ priyaiḥ kuśalapakṣavighātakāribhiḥ||



paramārthato na kasyacit kenacit saṃgatirastītyupadarśayannāha-

adhvānaṃ pratipannasya yathāvāsaparigrahaḥ|

tathā bhavādhvagasyāpi janmāvāsaparigrahaḥ||34||



mārgaprasthitasya kāṃciddiśaṃ gantumudyatasya yathā aparairadhvagaiḥ saha ekasminnāvāse kvacinmaṇḍapādau vā āvāsaparigraho bhavati, tathā saṃsāre'pi karmāyattagateḥ saṃsarato jñātisagotrasālohitādibhirekasmin janmani āvāsaparigraho jāyate| punarapi tatparityajya kvacidekākitayā yāti| na ca tatra kecitsahāyāstamanugacchanti| ato na kenacit kasyacidvāstavī saṃgatiḥ saṃbhavati| tasmānnānarthasahasropanetrīṃ svayamupakalpya kenacit saṃgatiṃ kuryāt||



tadevamabhidhāya saṃgatidoṣam, ekākitāyāḥ punarime guṇā iti vṛttatritayenopadarśayannāha-

caturbhiḥ puruṣairyāvatsa na nirdhāryate tataḥ|

āśocyamāno lokena tāvadeva vanaṃ vrajet||35||



asaṃstavāvirodhābhyāmeka eva śarīrakaḥ|

pūrvameva mṛto loke mriyamāṇo na śocati||36||



na cāntikacarāḥ kecicchocantaḥ kurvate vyathām|

buddhādyanusmṛtiṃ cāsya vikṣipanti na kecana||37||



avaśyamanicchannapi idānīṃ jīvadavasthāyāṃ maraṇamupagato balāttyājayitavyo [gṛhāvāsaḥ| tasmādevaṃ svayaṃ jīvanneva tyaktumarhati| tata iti gṛhāt|] āśocyamānaḥ hā vatsetyādivilāpavacanaiḥ paridevyamānaḥ lokena bandhuprabhṛtinā tāvadeva tataḥ pūrvameva vanaṃ vrajet| kaḥ punaratra guṇaviśeṣa ityāha-asaṃstavetyādi| anunayapratighābhāvāt mriyamāṇo na śocati, śokopajanitaduḥkhabhāgī na bhavati| kutaḥ ? pūrvameva mṛto loke| yadaiva gṛhānniṣkrāntaḥ, tadaiva svajanabāndhavādau lokaviṣaye| ayamaparo guṇastasyetyāha-na cāntikacarā ityādi| antikacarāḥ samīpavartino jñātisagotrādayastadviyogāturāḥ śocantaḥ śokamupajanayantaḥ na ca naiva kurvate vyathām, ātmanaḥ kāyamanasoḥ pīḍām| yadi vā| teṣāṃ śokaṃ paśyato mriyamāṇasya manastāpam| na kevalamayameva guṇaḥ, api tu buddhādyanusmṛtiṃ ādiśabdāddharmādyanusmṛtim,tattvālambanamanaskāraṃ vā| asyeti janasaṃparkavivekacāriṇo maraṇasamaye||



tasmādityādinā upasaṃharati-

tasmādekākitā ramyā nirāyāsā śivodayā|

sarvavikṣepaśamanī sevitavyā mayā sadā||38||



ekākitā anāsaṅgavihāritā| ramyā sukhahetutvāt| nirāyāsā duḥkhavipakṣatvāt| śivodayā niḥśreyasāvāhakatvāt| sarvavikṣepaśamanī sarvavikṣepasya kāyavāṅmānasikasya durācārasya śamanī nivartanī samādhānahetutvāt| sevitavyā mayā sadeti| atraiva abhiniveśena āsaṅgaḥ kārya ityarthaḥ||



tadevaṃ janasaṃparkavivarjanāt kāyavivekaṃ pratipādya cittavivekaṃ pratipādayitumāha-

sarvānyacintānirmuktaḥ svacittaikāgramānasaḥ|

samādhānāya cittasya prayatiṣye damāya ca||39||



sarvā yā anyacintā asadvitarkasvabhāvāḥ, tābhirnirmuktaḥ, tadvirahitaḥ| svacittaikāgramānasaḥ svacittameva ekamagraṃ pradhānaṃ yasmin mānase manasikāre tat tathoktam, tādṛśaṃ mānasaṃ yasya sa tathā| svacittaṃ vā ekāgramekāyattaṃ tatpracāravyavalokanatatparaṃ niyatālambanapratibaddhaṃ vā mānasaṃ yasyeti samāsaḥ| tathābhūtaḥ samādhānāya cittasya śamathāya prayatiṣye, tatparāyaṇo bhaviṣyāmi| tadekāgratāyāṃ niyojayiṣyāmītyarthaḥ| damāya ceti punaḥpunastatraivālambane niyojanāya, bahirvikṣepanivāraṇāya vā||



tatra cittasamādhānasya vipakṣatvāt kāmavitarkaṃ nivārayitumāha-

kāmā hyanarthajanakā iha loke paratra ca|

iha bandhavadhocchedairnarakādau paratra ca||40||



aprahīṇabhavasaṃyojanaiḥ kamanīyatayā adhyavasitatvāt kāmā rūpādayo viṣayā ucyante| hiśabdo yasmādarthe| tasmādudvijya kāmebhyaḥ [8.85] iti vakṣyamāṇena saṃbandhaḥ| te ca sevyamānā anarthajanakā a........



yadarthaṃ dūtadūtīnāṃ kṛtāñjaliranekadhā|

na ca pāpamakīrtirvā yadarthaṃ gaṇitā purā||41||



prakṣiptaśca bhaye'pyātmā draviṇaṃ ca vyayīkṛtam|

yānyeva ca pariṣvajya babhūvottamanirvṛtiḥ||42||



tānyevāsthīni nānyāni svādhīnānyamamāni ca|

prakāmaṃ saṃpariṣvajya kiṃ na gacchasi nirvṛtim||43||



unnāmyamānaṃ yatnādyannīyamānamadho hriyā|

purā dṛṣṭamadṛṣṭaṃ vā mukhaṃ jālikayāvṛtam||44||



tanmukhaṃ tvatparikleśamasahadbhirivādhunā|

gṛdhrairvyaktīkṛtaṃ paśya kimidānīṃ palāyase||45||



paracakṣurnipātebhyo'pyāsīdyatparirakṣitam|

tadadya bhakṣitaṃ yāvat kimīrṣyālo na rakṣasi||46||



māṃsocchrayamimaṃ dṛṣṭvā gṛdhrairanyaiśca bhakṣitam|

āhāraḥ pūjyate'nyeṣāṃ strakcandanavibhūṣaṇaiḥ||47||



........rūpaḥ| pūjyate tvayā stragādibhiḥ| tairgṛdhrairanyaiśca gomāyuprabhṛtibhirmāṃsocchrayaṃ māṃsapuñjamimaṃ bhakṣitaṃ bībhatsaṃ dṛṣṭvā kimīrṣyālo na rakṣasīti yojayitavyam| kimidānīṃ palāyase iti vā vyavahitena saṃbandhaḥ||



nanu idamapi praṣṭavyo bhavānityāha-

niścalādapi te trāsaḥ kaṅkālādevamīkṣitāt|



niścalādapi kāṣṭhaloṣṭhasamānāt tava trāso jāyate iti kākkā pṛcchati| kaṅkālāt asthipañjarāt| evamapi bībhatsarūpāt īkṣitāt dṛṣṭāt yadi vā evaṃ trāsaḥ| yaddūrādapi dūrataraṃ palāyase iti yojanīyam| yadevaṃ calataḥ kathaṃ na trāsa ityāha-

vetāleneva kenāpi cālyamānādbhayaṃ na kim||48||



bhūtagraheṇa cālyamānāt jīvataścalataḥ kiṃ na bhayaṃ bhavati ? tasmādatiśayena bhayaṃ yuktamityarthaḥ||



evaṃ tāvajjugupsanīyatāṃ pratipādya punaranyathā pratipādayitumāha-

ekasmādaśanādeṣāṃ lālāmedhyaṃ ca jāyate|

tatrāmedhyamaniṣṭaṃ te lālāpānaṃ kathaṃ priyam||49||



yo hi nāma mohāvṛtaviveko rāgaviṣamūrcchitacaitanyaḥ, tasya atikamanīyatayā kāminīvadanamadhupānabuddhayā tanmukhavigalallālāpānābhilāṣiṇaḥ| paryanuyogamāha-ekameva kāraṇaṃ dvayorapyāhārapānasvabhāvāt| tatra tayormadhye amedhyaṃ purīṣamapriyaṃ bhavataḥ| lālāyāḥ śleṣmaṇaḥ pānaṃ kathaṃ priyam ? kena prakāreṇa tatrābhiratirnānyatra ? dvayorapi yukteti bhāvaḥ||



athāpi syāt-yadyapi dvayorapi kāraṇamabhinnam, tathāpi tasminnatidurgandhatayā vaimukhyam, itarasmiṃstu tadabhāvātprītiriti| tadetadapi na samyagabhidhānamityupapādayannāha-

tūlagarbhairmṛdusparśai ramante nopadhānakaiḥ|

durgandhaṃ na sravantīti kāmino'medhyamohitāḥ||50||



kārpāsāditūlaparipūritairmasūrakādibhirūpadhānaiḥ sukumārasparśaiḥ kāmino na ramante, na dhṛtimadhivāsayanti| kutaḥ ? daurgandhyamaśuciniṣyandaṃ na muñcantīti kṛtvā aśuciparipūrite strīkalevare eva ramante| etadapi kutaḥ ? kāminaḥ kāmasukhābhilāṣiṇaḥ amedhyamohitā yataḥ| hetupadametat| amedhyaviṣaye amedhyena vā mohitāḥ| aśucau śuciviparyāsāt tatraiva atiśayavatīmabhiratimanubhavanti||



syādetat-yadi nāma aśucitvamamedhye strīkalevare ca sādhāraṇam, tathāpi tadekatra vivṛtamanyatra pracchāditam| atastadanyaparihāreṇa asminnabhiṣvaṅgaḥ ityatrāha-

yatra cchanne'pyayaṃ rāgastadacchannaṃ kimapriyam|

na cetprayojanaṃ tena kasmācchannaṃ vimṛdyate||51||



yasminnamedhyasvabhāve pracchāditarūpe| adṛṣṭe'pīti yāvat| etādṛśo'bhiṣvaṅgaḥ, tadacchannaṃ dṛśyatāṃ gatamatiśayena prītikaramupajāyate ityucitam| tat kimiti tathābhūtamapriyaṃ bhavataḥ ? atha tathābhūte sarvathā vaimukhyameva te nācchannena kiṃcit prayojanaṃ tavāsti| yadyevam, tarhi kasmāddhetoḥ channaṃ viśeṣeṇa mṛdyate, tadanyaparihāreṇa tasyaiva ghaṭanāya yatnaḥ kriyate ?



api ca| idamapi praṣṭavyastvam-kiṃ bhavānaśucivirāgo na veti| atra prathamaṃ vikalpamadhikṛtyāha-

yadi te nāśucau rāgaḥ kasmādāliṅgase'param|



yadi bhavataḥ aśucau na rāgaḥ, na sarvathā āsaṅgo'sti, tarhi kasmādāliṅgase apara manyam ? kiṃ tadityāha-

māṃsakardamasaṃliptaṃ snāyubaddhāsthipañjaram||52||



māṃsameva kardama iva lepanasādharmyāt, tena liptamupadigdham| kimevaṃbhūtamiti cet, snāyubaddhāsthipañjaram, snāyvābaddhaṃ saṅgīkṛtam, āyattīkṛtam asthipañjaram asthisaṃkalam| anyathā khaṇḍaśo viśakalitaṃ syāt, iti virāgaviṣayatāmasya darśayati|| atha śucau rāga iti dvitīyo vikalpaḥ svīkriyate, tatrāha-svamevetyādi| athavā| anyathāvatāryateyaduktaṃ pareṇa-channe carmādinā rāgo bhavati nācchanne| tatrāha-yadītyādi| yadi tena hetunā carmādinā pihitatvāditi kṛtvā aśucau rāgo bhavati bhavataḥ, tadā kasmādāliṅgase paramanyadīyaṃ pañjaram| anyat pūrvavat||



kiṃ tarhi samucitamatretyāha-

svameva bahvamedhyaṃ te tenaiva dhṛtimācara|

amedhyabhasrāmaparāṃ gūthaghasmara vismara||53||



svameva ātmanaiva bahutaramaśucilālāsiṅghāṇamastaluṅgamūtrapurīṣādi tavāsti, tenaivāśucinā saṃtoṣaṃ kuruṣva| tato'pyameghyabhastrāṃ purīṣaprasevikām aparāmanyāṃ strīśarīrasvabhāvām| gūthaghasmara purīṣabhakṣaṇaśīla vismara, tatra manasikāraṃ mā kārṣīḥ||



māṃsapriyo'hamityādinā punaranyathā parihāramāha-

māṃsapriyo'hamasyeti draṣṭuṃ spraṣṭuṃ ca vāñchasi|

acetanaṃ svabhāvena māṃsaṃ tvaṃ kathamicchasi||54||



māṃsaṃ priyaṃ yasya| eṣo'haṃ māṃsapriyaḥ| asya asthipañjarasya| yadi vā| māṃsasya priyo māṃsapriyo'hamasyeti pūrvavat| māṃsapriyo'hamasya priya iti yāvat| sāpekṣatve'pi samāso gamakatvāt| ityevaṃ tatpralobhāt pratyupakāradhiyā vā draṣṭuṃ spraṣṭuṃ ca vāñchasi, darśanaṃ sparśanaṃ ca abhilaṣasi| atrāha-acetanaṃ caitanyaśūnyaṃ mṛtpiṇḍaprāyam| svabhāvena prakṛtyā| na tu punaryathāpare varṇayanti-caitanyayogādacetanamapi cetanamabhidhīyate| tādṛśaṃ māṃsaṃ tvamacetanasvabhāvaṃ kāmukaḥ san kathamicchasi ? taddṛṣṭau ca mṛtpiṇḍe'pi syāt| tathā ca sati bhavānapi na cetanaḥ syāt||



asti tatra citsvabhāvaṃ cittam, tena tadicchāmīti cedāha-

yadicchasi na taccittaṃ draṣṭuṃ spraṣṭuṃ ca śakyate|

yacca śakyaṃ na tadvetti kiṃ tadāliṅgase mudhā||55||



yaccittaṃ citsvabhāvamicchasi, tadarūpitvāt draṣṭuṃ na śakyate| yacca māṃsādisvabhāvaṃ kalevaraṃ draṣṭuṃ spraṣṭuṃ ca śakyate, na tadvetti, na jānāti, acetanatvāt| ataḥ kimiti tadacetanamāliṅgase āśliṣyasi ? mudheti niṣphalam| naiva āliṅgitumucitamiti bhāvaḥ| anyathā loṣṭhādyāliṅganaprasaṅgaḥ||



kiṃ ca| idamapyatigarhitamityādarśayannāha-

nāmedhyamayamanyasya kāyaṃ vetsītyanadbhutam|

svāmedhyamayameva tvaṃ taṃ nāvaiṣīti vismayaḥ||56||



anyasya kāyaṃ yadamedhyamayaṃ na vetsi, tanna kiṃcidāścaryam| yuktameva tadavedanam, parasaṃtānasyātmanā vyavahitatvāt| idaṃ punaratiśayenāścaryasthānam, yat svasyātmano'medhyamayaṃ tvaṃ taṃ kāyaṃ nāvaiṣi nāvagacchasi||



idānīṃ śāstrakārastaṃ saṃvejayannāha-

vighanārkāṃśuvikacaṃ muktvā taruṇapaṅkajam|

amedhyaśauṇḍacittasya kā ratirgūthapañjare||57||



vighanārkāśubhirvikacaṃ vikasitam| tādṛśaṃ taruṇapaṅkajam| abhinavasaroruhaṃ hitvā amedhyābhiniviṣṭacittasya kā ratirgūthapañjare| na yukteti bhāvaḥ||



punaranyathā prāha-

mṛdādyamedhyaliptatvādyadi na spraṣṭumicchasi|

yatastannirgataṃ kāyāttaṃ spraṣṭuṃ kathamicchasi||58||



ādiśabdādvastrādi| aśucimrakṣitatvāt| yadi spraṣṭuṃ na vāñchasi| yataḥ kāyāttadamedhyaṃ nirgataṃ niryātam, taṃ kāyaṃ kathamicchasi spraṣṭum ?



athāpi syāt-nāyamupālambho mama yuktarūpaḥ, yato na me kaścidabhiniveśo'medhye ityatrāha-

yadi te nāśucau rāgaḥ kasmādāliṅgase param|

amedhyakṣetrasaṃbhūtaṃ tadbījaṃ tena vardhitam||59||



amedhyakṣetraṃ māturjaṭharam, anekāśucisthānatvāt, tatra saṃbhūtaṃ samutpannaṃ tadbījam, tadeva amedhyaṃ mātāpitṛśukraśoṇitasvabhāvaṃ bījaṃ yasya tattathoktam | tena vardhitamiti tena amedhyena mātṛpītāśitasya vāntakalpasya rasena vardhitaṃ garbhasthitamupabṛṃhitam| bahirnirgatamapi svayamaśitapītaparipākāśucirasena| kasmādāliṅgase paramiti saṃbandhaḥ| paraṃ strīkalevaram| ityupālambho'styeva bhavataḥ||



atha aśucirāgo'hamiti pakṣasvīkāraḥ, tathāpi upālambhastadavastha evetyāha-

amedhyabhavamalpatvānna vāñchasyaśuciṃ kṛmim|

bahvamedhyamayaṃ kāyamamedhyajamapīcchasi||60||



purīṣādyaśucisaṃbhūtaṃ kṛmiṃ prāṇakajātaṃ na vāñchasi| kāyaṃ punarmātṛgrāmasya bahutarāśucisvabhāvamaśucisaṃbhūtamapi pūrvakrameṇa icchasi||



athāpi syāt-kimatrottaraṃ vaktavyam ? yato'hamapi yādṛśaḥ, tādṛśaṃ tasyāḥ śarīram, tena aśucernāśucisaṃparko doṣaḥ, yādṛśo yakṣastādṛśo balirapītyāha-

na kevalamamedhyatvamātmīyaṃ na jugupsasi|

amedhyabhāṇḍānaparān gūthaghasmara vāñchasi||61||



ayamiha mahāmohasya prabhāvaḥ, yadātmagatameva tāvadaśucisvabhāvaṃ na vigarhasi| pratyuta aparānaśucikumbhānabhilaṣasi, iti dhik parāmarśavikalatā| gūthaghasmareti tiraskāravacanena tasyaiva saṃbodhanam||



idānīṃ sākṣātkṛtya aśucisvabhāvatāṃ pratipādayannāha-

karpūrādiṣu hṛdyeṣu śālyannavyañjaneṣu vā|

mukhakṣiptavisṛṣṭeṣu bhūmirapyaśucirmatā||62||



evaṃ śucipavitravastunyapi yadekadeśaniṣyandasaṃparkādapavitrasvabhāvatāṃ vrajanti| āsatāṃ tāvattāni vastūni, tatsaṃsargādbhūmirapi śucisvabhāvā aśucitvaṃ yāti||



yadi pratyakṣamapyetadamedhyaṃ nādhimucyase|

śmaśāne patitān ghorān kāyān paśyāparānapi||63||



evaṃ tāvadadhyakṣasiddho'yaṃ vyavahāraḥ, tathāpi yadi nādhimucyase, na saṃpratyeṣi| dṛṣṭvāpi na śraddadhāsi ityarthaḥ| tadā śmaśāne pūtinivāse kāyān paśya| kiṃbhūtān ? ghorāniti| vikhāditakavinīlakavipūyakādisvabhāvatayā bībhatsān bhayaṃkarān vā aparāniti ato'dhikān||



kiṃ ca| prakṛtyā vikṛta evāyaṃ kāyo nābhiratisthānaṃ yujyate ityupadarśayannāha-

carmaṇyutpāṭite yasmādbhayamutpadyate mahat|

kathaṃ jñātvāpi tatraiva punarutpadyate ratiḥ||64||



utpāṭite viyojite| yasmāditi kāyāt| trāso jāyate mahān-kimetaditi| evaṃ tatsvabhāvaṃ viditvāpi kathaṃ tasminneva sthāne bhayasthānatvena ekadā pratipanne punaranyadā jāyate ratirabhiṣvaṅgaḥ||



syādetat-yadi nāma aśucisvabhāvatā kāyasya adhyakṣasiddhā, tathāpi candanādisurabhivastūpalipto'sau kamanīyo bhavati ityatrāha-

kāye nyasto'pyasau gandhaścandanādeva nānyataḥ|

anyadīyena gandhena kasmādanyatra rajyase||65||



śarīre niveśito'pyasau gandhaḥ candanādiprasūtaḥ, yadvaśātkāye kamanīyabuddhirupajāyate| candanādeva kevalāt| nānyataḥ iti kāyāt| ataḥ kasmāt parakīyena gandhena candanasamudbhūtena anyatra yasyāsau gandho na bhavati, atra abhiratiḥ kriyate ?



api ca| candanādisaṃskāro'pi kevalātmopaghātāya vartate, na hitāyeti pratipādayannāha-

yadi svabhāvadaurgandhyādrāgo nātra śivaṃ nanu|

kimanartharucirlokastaṃ gandhenānulimpati||66||



svabhāvadaurgandhyāt sahajātpūtigandhavahatvāt| atreti kāye| yadi rāgo notpadyate, tadā śivaṃ nanu kalyāṇameva syāt| evaṃ guṇasaṃbhave'pi kiṃ kāraṇamanarthapriyo lokaḥ taṃ kāyaṃ gandhenānulimpati ? sarvathā na yuktametadityarthaḥ||



na cāsya saṃskārasahasratve'pi svabhāvānyathātvamastītyāha-

kāyasyātra kimāyātaṃ sugandhi yadi candanam|



kāyasya svabhāvadurgandhasya kimāyātam, kiṃ bhūtam ? na kiṃcit| sugandhi yadi candanam| śobhano gandho'syeti bahuvrīhisamāsāntādin| tathāpi tasya na svabhāvapracyutirastīti bhāvaḥ| atha tadvaśāt tasmin kamanīyatāmupādāya abhiratirutpadyate ityatrāha-

anyadīyena gandhena kasmādanyatra rajyate||67||



evaṃ ca na vicakṣaṇatā syādityarthaḥ||

keśādisaṃskāradvāreṇāpi anarthaheturevāyaṃ kāya iti ślokadvayenopadarśayannāha-

yadi keśanakhairdīrghairdantaiḥ samalapāṇḍuraiḥ|

malapaṅkadharo nagraḥ kāyaḥ prakṛtibhīṣaṇaḥ||68||



sa kiṃ saṃskriyate yatnādātmaghātāya śastravat|

ātmavyāmohanodyuktairunmattairākulā mahī||69||



dīrghaiḥ sahajāvasthitaiḥ| acchinnairityarthaḥ| dantairdaśanaiḥ samalapāṇḍuraiḥ dantadhāvanakramukādibhirasaṃskṛtaiḥ| malapaṅkadharaḥ mala eva paṅkaḥ kardamaḥ, taṃ dhārayatīti tathā, snānābhyañjanādivirahāt| nagna iti vastraviviktatvāt yathājāta ivāvasthitaḥ| tathābhūtaḥ san| yadi kāyaḥ prakṛtyā bhīṣaṇaḥ pretānāmiva svabhāvena bhayaṃkaraḥ| sa evaṃbhūtaḥ kimiti saṃskriyate ? yatnāditi keśanakhādiracanāviśeṣaiḥ, dantadhāvanatāmbūlādibhiḥ, snānābhyañjanānulepanādibhiḥ, vastrādibhirvā| kimiva ? ātmaghātāya śastravat| ātmano vadhārthaṃ khaṅgādiryathā saṃskriyate tadvat| ityeṣāṃ mohavaśīkṛtaṃ viceṣṭitaṃ paridevayannāha-ātmetyādi| ātmanaiva saṃcintya ātmano vyāmohamutpādayituṃ yatnavadbhiḥ unmattairasvasthacittaiḥ| evaṃ ca viparītakarmānuṣṭhānānnaite varākāḥ sacetasa iti khedaṃ karoti śāsrakāraḥ| na cātra kaścidātmajño dṛśyata iti unmattairākulā samākīrṇā mahī pṛthivīti||



prāsaṅgikaṃ parisamāpya prakṛtamanubandhannāha-

kaṅkālān katicidṛṣṭvā śmaśāne kila te ghṛṇā|

grāmaśmaśāne ramase calatkaṅkālasaṃkule||70||



śavānāmasthipañjarān katicit pratiniyatān| etaduktaṃ bhavati-carmaṇyutpāṭite [8. 64] ityādikamuktvā yaduktaṃ kathaṃ jñātvāpītyādi, tatra parasyottaram-na śmaśānagatakalevarasādṛśyamasya, yena tasminneva atrāpi ratirna syāt, kiṃ tarhi śmaśāne tasya ghṛṇāsthānatvāt| nātreti atra abhidheyakaṅkālānityādi| grāmaśmaśāne| iti| naivātra kaścidviśeṣo'sti| tadeva śarīraṃ śmaśāne ghṛṇāsthānagrāme vā abhiratisthānamiti kākvā brūte| naitadvicakṣaṇadhiyāṃ samāyuktamiti bhāvaḥ| calatkaṅkālasaṃkule ityanena etaddarśayati-etāvāṃstu viśeṣaḥ| na ca anena viśeṣeṇāśucisvabhāvatā ghṛṇāheturnivartate, yena pravṛttiriyaṃ syāditi| saṃkula iti samākīrṇe||



bhavatu nāma īdṛśamaśucisvabhāvamapi sūkarāṇāmiva abhiratisthānam| tathā ca evaṃ vidhamapi draviṇavikalasya naitat sulabhamityupadarśayannāha-

evaṃ cāmedhyamapyetadvinā mūlyaṃ na labhyate|

tadarthamarjanāyāso narakādiṣu ca vyathā||71||



vinā mūlyaṃ dravyamantareṇa na labhyate na prāpyate| atastadarthinā prathamato dhanameva arjanīyam| tadarjanena āyāsāt kṛṣivāṇijyasevādisamāśrayeṇa pariśramādihaiva duḥkhamupajāyate, adharmeṇa copārjanānnarakādiṣu, iti ubhayaloke'narthahetureva tadarjanam| nāpi tatsukhaprāptirasti||



duḥkhameva tu kevalaṃ tadarjaneneti pratipādayannāha-

śiśornārjanasāmarthyaṃ kenāsau yauvane sukhī|

yātyarjanena tāruṇyaṃ vṛddhaḥ kāmaiḥ karoti kim||72||



bālāvasthāvasthitasya na dhanopārjanaśaktirasti, bālatvādeva| kena dhanena prakāreṇa vā asau bālo yauvane yuvāvasthāyāṃ sukhī syāt ? dhanavikalatvānna kvacidityarthaḥ| yadapi kasyacit pitṛpitāmahopārjitadhanena yauvane sukhitvaṃ dṛśyate, tadapi pratiniyatasyaiva na sarvasya| na cāpi pūrvoktaduḥkhadvayādvimucyate'sau| ato dhanārjanamupādeyamādau sukhasādhanopāyatvāt| tadarjayata eva galitavayaso na kaścidupayogo viṣayairiti||



athāpi syāt-tadarjayatāpi kāmasukhamanubhūyata eva, ityatrāha-

keciddināntavyāpāraiḥ pariśrāntāḥ kukāminaḥ|

gṛhamāgatya sāyāhne śerate sma mṛtā iva||73||



ye kecit kutsitakāmākṣiptacetasaḥ kāṣṭhatṛṇapatrādyāharaṇabhṛtikarmakriyālakṣaṇairdinaparyantavyāpāraiḥ parikhinnakāyamanaso nirutsukāḥ, astaṃ gate savitari svagṛhamāgatya gāḍhamiddhākrāntatvāt mṛtakalpāḥ śerate sma svapanti| prabhāte punarutthāya tatraiva nīcakarmaṇi yujyante| smaśabdo'tra vākyālaṃkāre atītārthāviṣayatvāt| evamāyuḥsaṃskārān kecit kukāminaḥ kṣapayanti, na ca kāmasukhāsvādamupalabhante|



parasevakānadhikṛtyāha-

daṇḍayātrābhirapare pravāsakleśaduḥkhitāḥ|

vatsararaipi nekṣante putradārāṃstadarthinaḥ||74||



apare pūrvakāmikebhyo'nye kukāminaḥ sevakā ityarthaḥ| te daṇḍayātrādibhiḥ, daṇḍaḥ paracakravijayāya yātrā prayāṇam, pararāṣṭradravyagrahaṇāya vā yātrā, tadādiryeṣāṃ deśāntarapreṣaṇādīnām, taiḥ pravāso deśāntaragamanam, tena kleśaḥ pariśramaḥ, tena duḥkhitāḥ pīḍitāḥ | sarvadā tathābhūtāḥ| vatsarairapi anekavarṣātyaye'pi putrān dārāṃśca nekṣante na paśyanti| tadarthina iti taiḥ putradārādibhirarthinaḥ tadabhilāṣukāḥ| tadarthameva parasevādisvīkārādityarthaḥ||



aho bata amīṣāṃ niṣphalamanuṣṭhānamiti śocayannāha-

yadarthameva vikrīta ātmā kāmavimohitaiḥ|

tanna prāptaṃ mudhaivāyurnītaṃ tu parakarmaṇā||75||



yadarthaṃ sukhapratilambhanimittaṃ vikrītaḥ paradāsīkṛtaḥ ātmā kāmaviḍambitaiḥ tanna prāptam, taditi sukhaṃ na prāptaṃ na pratilabdham| āyuḥsaṃskārā eva hi kevalamanarthakaṃ parakarmānuṣṭhānena kṣayamupanītāḥ| na sādhukarmaṇi kvacidapi yojitā iti bhāvaḥ||



sukhalipsayā pravṛttānāṃ pratyuta duḥkhamevāpatitameṣāmityupadarśayannāha-

vikrītasvātmabhāvānāṃ sadā preṣaṇakāriṇām|

prasūyante striyo'nyeṣāmaṭavīviṭapādiṣu||76||



sukhabubhukṣayā vikrītaḥ parāyattīkṛtaḥ svātmabhāva svakāyo yaiste tathā, teṣām| anyeṣāṃ sevakānāmityarthaḥ| ata eva sadā preṣaṇakaraṇaśīlānām| anyeṣāmapareṣāṃ prabhuprayojanena gacchatām| mārga eva prasūyante striyaḥ| aṭavīviṭapādiṣu| ādiśabdāt parvatanitagbanadīkūlādiṣu kaṣṭasthāneṣu||



ayamaparo viparyāsasteṣāmiti pratipādayannāha-

raṇaṃ jīvitasaṃdehaṃ viśanti kila jīvitum|

mānārthaṃ dāsatāṃ yānti mūḍhāḥ kāmaviḍambitāḥ||77||



vikrītasvātmabhāvāḥ saṃgrāmaṃ caturdantasaṃghaṭṭaṃ praviśanti| kiṃbhūtaṃ jīvitasaṃdeham ? tatra praviṣṭasya jīvitaṃ syādvā na veti jīvitasya saṃdeho'sminniti kṛtvā| jīvitumiti jīvanārtham| atra pratilabdhairlābhairjīvikāṃ kalpayiṣyāma iti matvetyarthaḥ| mānārthaṃ dāsatāṃ yānti, balavatā kenacidabhibhūtāḥ svamānoddharaṇārtham| aṅgulīcchedavelāgrahaṇasvīkārāt| mūḍhā mohāndhīkṛtavivekacakṣuṣaḥ| ke te ? kāmabiḍambitāḥ kāmāya kāmena vā viḍambitāstiraskṛtāḥ||



ihaiva janmani kāmāsaktacetasāṃ yadduḥkhaṃ dṛśyate tatkathayannāha-

chidyante kāminaḥ kecidanye śūlasamarpitāḥ|

dṛśyante dahyamānāśca hanyamānāśca śaktibhiḥ||78||



paradāradhanāpaharaṇādeḥ|| śeṣaḥ subodhaḥ||



kiṃ ca| ayaṃ sukhasādhanatvena upādīyamāno'pi ca anarthaparaṃparāprasūtiheturevārthaḥ iti kathayannāha-

arjanarakṣaṇanāśaviṣādai-

rarthamanarthamanantamavehi|

vyagratayā dhanasaktamatīnāṃ

nāvasaro bhavaduḥkhavimukteḥ||79||



arjanamanutpannasyotpādanaṃ duḥkham| upārjitasyāpi jalānalādibhyaḥ pañcapratyavāyebhyaḥ paripālanaṃ kaṣṭataram| tathā rakṣitasyāpi kathaṃcit taskarādibhirnāśādviṣādo daurmanasyaṃ paritāpaheturanarthaḥ| tadevamanarthaparaṃparānidānatvāt kāraṇe kāryopacārādartha evānartha uktaḥ| ityevamarjanādibhiḥ sarvadā vyākulatvāt dhanāsaktacetasāṃ kṣaṇamapi samādhānānavakāśatvāt nāvasaraḥ saṃsārāśṛ[śri ?]tajātyādiduḥkhanirmokṣāya sadā tadgatamanasikāraireva āyuḥrāṇāṃ kṣapaṇāt||



sarvametadupasaṃhṛtya kāmāsaṅgaparityāgāya saṃvegakathayā protsāhayati evamityādinā-

evamādīnavo bhūyānalpāsvādastu kāminām|

śakaṭaṃ vahato yadvatpaśorghāsalavagrahaḥ||80||



evamityuktaprakāraparāmarśe| ādīnavo'narthaḥ| bhūyānanekaprakāraḥ| na cātra sukhotpādavārtāpyasti| yadapi viparyāsāt kathaṃcit sukhamiti pratibhāsate, tadapi na kiṃcit| gurutarabhārākramaṇapariklāntavapuṣaḥ paśoriva ghāsalavagrāsagrahaṇam||



tasyāsvādalavasyārthe yaḥ paśorapyadurlabhaḥ|

hatā daivahateneyaṃ kṣaṇasaṃpatsudurlabhā||81||



tasyaivaṃbhūtasya atitucchasya sukhāsvādaleśasya paśorapi sādhāraṇāsyārthe tasya nimittam| iyaṃ kṣaṇasaṃpat aṣṭākṣaṇavinirmuktā hatā vināśitā| vṛthā kṛtetyarthaḥ| kiṃviśiṣṭā sudurlabhā vyākhyātā| kena daivahatena| daivaṃ purātanaṃ karma, tena hatā| hitāhitaparijñāne viparyastamatiḥ kṛtaḥ| vimohita ityarthaḥ| vastutastu tiraskāravacanametat| bhāgavihīna evamucyate||



avaśyaṃ ganturityādinā ślokadvayena viparyāsarūpatāmeva pratipādayati-

avaśyaṃ ganturalpasya narakādiprapātinaḥ|

kāyasyārthe kṛto yo'yaṃ sarvakālaṃ pariśramaḥ||82||



avaśyaṃ ganturiti anityatayā asthirasvabhāvasya| alpasya lokottarakāyamapekṣya atidūraṃ niṣkṛṣṭasya| narakādiprapātina iti aparimitaduḥkhabhāginaḥ| svasukhotpādane'pyasamarthasyetyarthaḥ| kāyasya ātmaśarīrasyārthe sukhotpādanāya yo'yaṃ narakādiduḥkhamavigaṇayya kṛtaḥ sarvakālaṃ saṃsārasya pūrvasyāṃ koṭau pariśramaḥ prayāsaḥ||



tataḥ koṭiśatenāpi śramabhāgena buddhatā|



tatastasmāt pariśramāt koṭiśatenāpi pariśramabhāgena aṃśena buddhatvaṃ syāt, tadapekṣayā atyalpīyasā āyāsabalena buddhatvaṃ syāt| tathāpi tadarthaṃ mandabuddhayo notsahanta ityarthaḥ| atha bodhicaryāyāmapi carataḥ anekaduṣkaraśatasamārambhādatiśayabadduḥkhasahasramutpadyata evetyāha-

caryāduḥkhānmahadduḥkhaṃ sā ca bodhirna kāminām||83||



caryāduḥkhamapekṣya idameva mahadduḥkhaṃ yatkāmārthe caratāṃ saṃsāre teṣāmavīcyādinarakapatanāt, pāratantryeṇa dīrghakālamanubhavanācca| na tu bodhisattvānāṃ pratiniyatakālaṃ svecchayā tadanubhavatām| tadevaṃ duḥkhamanubhavatāmapi kāmārthe kāmināṃ sā ca bodhirna bhavati, yā bodhisattvānāṃ parārthe duḥkhamanubhavatāmityarthaḥ||



punarviśeṣeṇa kāmanidānaduḥkhaṃ pratipādayannāha-

na śastraṃ na viṣaṃ nāgnirna prapāto na vairiṇaḥ|

kāmānāmupamāṃ yānti narakādivyathāsmṛteḥ||84||



amī śastrādayo duḥkhajanakatvena prasiddhā na sādṛśyaṃ bhajante prati kāmānām| kasmāt ? narakādidurgatiduḥkhasya āgamāt pratipannasya smaraṇāt smaraṇenāmukhīkaraṇāt| śastrādayo hi niyatakālaṃ maraṇamātraduḥkhadāyakāḥ, kāmāstu dīrghakālikatīvranarakādiduḥkhahetava iti kīdṛśī tairupamā bhavet ?



tadevaṃ kāyavivekānantaraṃ cittavivekaṃ pratipādya prakṛte yojayitumāha-

evamudvijya kāmebhyo viveke janayedratim|



kāmebhyo bhayahetubhyaḥ| evamuktakrameṇa udvijya saṃtrāsaṃ kṛtvā pūrvoktaviveke ratimabhiratimutpādayet| kutra sthitvā tatrāha-

kalahāyāsaśūnyāsu śāntāsu vanabhūmiṣu||85||



pratidvandvināmabhāvāt kalahāyāsaśūnyāstāḥ, vyālamṛgasarīsṛpataskarādivirahācca ramyāḥ||



tatrānuśaṃsāmāha-

dhanyaiḥ śaśāṅkakaracandanaśītaleṣu

ramyeṣu harmyavipuleṣu śilātaleṣu|

niḥśabdasaumyavanamārutavījyamānaiḥ

caṃkramyate parahitāya vicintyate ca||86||



dhanyaiḥ sukṛtibhiḥ| śaśāṅkasya candramasaḥ karā raśmaya eva śuklatāśaityasādharmyāccandanānīva, taiḥ śītalāni yāni ślātalāni teṣu caṃkramyata iti saṃbandhaḥ| kiṃviśiṣṭeṣu ? prakṛtyaiva śucipavitreṣu karkaśādidoṣarahiteṣu ca| harmyavipuleṣu dhavalagṛhavadvistīrṇeṣu| kīdṛśaiḥ sadbhiścaṃkramyate ? niḥśabdaiḥ pratikūlaśabdavirahitaiḥ| saumyairanutkaṭaiḥ| sukhasaṃsparśairityarthaḥ| vanamārutaiḥ vanapavanaiḥ| vījyamānāḥ taiścaṃkramyata iti parāvṛttyā punaḥ punarmandaṃ bhramyate| na kevalaṃ caṃkramyate, kiṃ tu parahitāya sattvānāṃ sukhotpādanāya vicintyate| sarvametadayatnasiddhaṃ yoginām, kāmināṃ tu prayatnasādhyam| tadanena aiśvaryasukhādviśiṣyate vivekasukhamityupadarśitaṃ bhavati||



idamaparamasādhāraṇaṃ sukhaṃ vivekavihāriṇa ityupadarśayannāha-

vihṛtya yatra kvacidiṣṭakālaṃ

śūnyālaye vṛkṣatale guhāsu|

parigraharakṣaṇakhedamuktaḥ

caratyapekṣāvirato yatheṣṭam||87||

svacchandacārītyādinā kathitamevārthaṃ vyaktīkaroti-

svacchandacāryanilayaḥ pratibaddho na kasyacit|

yatsaṃtoṣasukhaṃ bhuṅkte tadindrasyāpi durlabham||88||



svasyātmanaḥ chando'bhilāṣaḥ, tena carituṃ śīlamasyeti| svecchācārītyarthaḥ||

iti vivekaguṇānabhidhāya prakṛtamabhidhitsurāha-

evamādibhirākārairvivekaguṇabhāvanāt|

upaśāntavitarkaḥ san bodhicittaṃ tu bhāvayet||89||



evamiti pūrvoktaiḥ| ādiśabdādanyairapi evaṃvidhairākāraiḥ| vivekasya kāyikacaitasikasya guṇānāṃ bhāvanāt, iti hi sarvasukhasaṃpattiheturviveka iti cetasi punaḥ punarāmukhīkaraṇāddhetoḥ upaśānto vitarkaḥ asanmanasikāro yasya saḥ| tathābhūtaḥ san bodhicittaṃ tu bhāvayet| evaṃ pariśuddhe cetasi bhāvyamānaṃ bodhicittaṃ prakarṣapadamadhirohatīti viśeṣaṃ tuśabdena darśayati||



tatra yāvadekatvaṃ pareṣu nātmanā kriyate, na tāvat parahitasukhāya samyak cittaṃ calati, ātmagrāhasya ātmanyeva viśeṣeṇa pravṛtteḥ| ato'sya nivṛttaye-

parātmasamatāmādau bhāvayedevamādarāt|



ādau prathamataḥ| paścāt parātmaparivartanamiti bhāvaḥ| evamiti vakṣyamāṇanītyā| ādarāditi mahatābhiniveśena| tasyā evākāraṃ darśayati-

samaduḥkhasukhāḥ sarve pālanīyā mayātmavat||90||



matto nāmīṣāṃ kaścidviśeṣo'sti| ato yathā mama duḥkhaṃ bādhakaṃ tathā eṣāmapi| yathā mama sukhamanugrāhakaṃ tathā eṣāmapi| iti tulyaduḥkhasukhāḥ sarve prāṇino bhavanti| tasmāt pālanīyā mayātmavat| yathā ātmā duḥkhādduḥkhahetorvā samudbhiyate, tathā anyepi sattvāḥ samuddharaṇīyāḥ| yathā ātmā sarvathā sukhīkartumiṣyate, tathā anye'pīti paripālanīyā ātmavat||



nanu kathamātmanā anekaprakāragatibhedabhinnānāṃ sattvānāmekatvaṃ setsyati, abhinnasukhaduḥkhasvabhāvatvaṃ ca katham ? ityatrāha-

hastādibhedena bahuprakāraḥ

kāyo yathaikaḥ paripālanīyaḥ|

tathā jagadbhinnamabhinnaduḥkha-

sukhātmakaṃ sarvamidaṃ tathaiva||91||



karacaraṇaśiraḥprabhṛtibhedādanekaprakāraḥ kāyo yathikatvenādhyavasitaḥ paripālanīyo bhavati duḥkhanivartanāt sukhopadhānācca, jagatsattvalokaḥ abhinnamekatvenādhyavasitamātmanaḥ paripālanīyaṃ bhavati| abhinnaduḥkhasukhātmakaṃ ca| luptacakāro nirdeśaḥ| tathaiva hastādibhedavadeva sarvamidamiti bahuprakāragatibhedabhinnamapi| ayamabhiprāyaḥ-yathā abhyāsādekatvādhyavasāyo'smin kāye ekatvamantareṇāpi, tathā anekaprakāre jagatyapīti na kaścidviśeṣaḥ||



syādetat-yadi bhavatā saha jagadekasvabhāvam, tadā kathamiva bhavato duḥkhamanyasaṃtāneṣu na bādhakaṃ syāt ? evaṃ viparyaye'pi yojyamityāśaṅkayāha-

yadyapyanyeṣu deheṣu madduḥkhaṃ na prabādhate|

tathāpi tadduḥkhameva mamātmasnehaduḥsaham||92||



anyeṣu apareṣu śarīreṣu mama duḥkhaṃ yadi nāma prabādhakaṃ na bhavati, tathāpi tadduḥkhameva mama| kutaḥ ? ātmani snehena duḥsahaṃ soḍhumaśakyam| hetupadametat| aṃśena pravṛttāvapi duḥkhasvabhāvatāṃ na muñcatītyarthaḥ| evaṃ viparyayo'pi vyākhyeyaḥ||

tathā yadyapyasaṃvedyamanyadduḥkhaṃ mayātmanā|

tathāpi tasya tadduḥkhamātmasnehena duḥsaham||93||



ataḥ svaparaviśeṣamapāsya duḥkhasvabhāvataiva nivartanahetuḥ| ata āha-

mayānyaduḥkhaṃ hantavyaṃ duḥkhatvādātmaduḥkhavat|



yadyadduḥkhaṃ tattanmayā hantavyam, yathātmaduḥkham| duḥkhaṃ cedamanyasattvaduḥkhamiti svabhāvahetuprayogaḥ| duḥkhasvabhāvatāmātrabhāvinī hantavyatā| na ca asiddhatā hetoḥ, aviśeṣeṇa duḥkhasvabhāvatāyāḥ prasādhitatvāt| na cāpyanaikāntikatā, ātmaduḥkhasyāpi hantavyatā na syādaviśeṣāditi viparyayabādhakam| viruddhatāpyata eva na syāt| tathāyamaparaḥ prayogaḥ-

anugrāhyā mayānye'pi sattvatvādātmasattvavat||94||



ye sattvāste sarve mayā anugrāhyāḥ, yathā ātmasattvaḥ| sattvāśca anye'pi prāṇinaḥ iti svabhāvahetureva| sattvātmakatāmātrabhāvini anugrāhyasvabhāvatā atra| ayamapi nāsiddhaḥ, sattvātmakatāyāḥ pakṣe prasiddhatvāt| ātmano'nugrāhyatābhāvaprasaṅgena anaikāntiko'pi na syāt| pūrvavanna viruddhaḥ||



nanu asti viśeṣo'nyasmādātmani sukhābhiniveśo nāma| tathā tato'yamanaikāntiko heturiti| atrāha-

yadā mama pareṣāṃ ca tulyameva sukhaṃ priyam|

tadātmanaḥ ko viśeṣo yenātraiva sukhodyama||95||



tulyameva samameva sukhaṃ priyamiṣṭam| tadātmanaḥ parasmāt ko viśeṣaḥ ? naiva kaścit yena tatraiva ātmanyeva sukhotpādanāya tātparyaṃ na parasminnityarthaḥ||



prathame hetāvanaikāntikatāṃ pariharannāha-

yadā mama pareṣāṃ ca bhayaṃ duḥkhaṃ ca na priyam|

tadātmanaḥ ko viśeṣo yattaṃ rakṣāmi netaram||96||



bhayamiti duḥkhahetuḥ| netaramiti nānyam||

syādetat-yadi nāma duḥkhātmakatā na viśiṣyate, tathāpi yasya duḥkhena bādhā syāt, sa eva rakṣitumucito nānya ityāha-

tadduḥkhena na me bādhetyato yadi na rakṣyate|

nāgāmikāyaduḥkhānme bādhā tatkena rakṣyate||97||



tasya parasya duḥkhena mama bādhā pīḍā nāstītyato'smāt kāraṇād yadi na rakṣyate'nyaḥ, tadā aparamidaṃ vyāhataṃ syāt| yato nāgāminaḥ kāyasya paralokabhāvino narakādijātasya duḥkhātmakasya [duḥkhānme] tasyopāttasya kāyasya kācidbādhā saṃbhavati, tasya anyatvāt| iti lokoktau, tasmādarthe vā| yata evam, tasmāt kenābhiprāyeṇa asau rakṣyate ? kāya iti prakṛtatvāt pāpānnivartanāt kuśale pravartanācca||



athāpi syāt-ahameka eva sarvadā, tenātra bhinnatvaṃ nāsti śarīrayoḥ| nāyaṃ doṣa ityatrāha-

ahameva tadāpīti mithyeyaṃ parikalpanā|



ātmano nirākariṣyamāṇatvāt nirastatvācca leśataḥ tatko'yamahaṃpratyayasya viṣayo bhaviṣyati ? tasmādahaṃpratyayaviṣayasya kasyacidekasyābhāvānmithyeyaṃ parikalpanā adhyavasāyaḥ|| ahameva tadāpīti| bhavāntare'pi | māyopamapañcopādānaskandhamātrālambanatvādasya| itīdamapi adhyavasāyavaśāducyate, na tu punarasya vastutaḥ kiṃcidālambanamasti, vikalpātmakatvāt||



kutaḥ punariyaṃ mithyākalpanetyāha-

anya eva mṛto yasmādanya eva prajāyate||98||



yadā nātmādiḥ kaścidekaḥ paralokagāmī saṃbhavati, skandhamātrameva kevalam, tadā na khalu yadeva skandhapañcakamiha vinaśyati, tadeva punarapyutpadyate paraloke, api tu apūrvameva pūrvanivṛttau tatra idaṃpratyayatāviśiṣṭaṃ kleśakarmābhisaṃskṛtamantarābhavasaṃtatyā samutpadyate| tasmādanādisaṃsārapravṛttavitathavikalpābhyāsavāsanāvaśādahaṃpratyayo vitatha eva upajāyate||



kiṃ ca| idamaparaṃ tatra bādhakamityāha-

yadi tasyaiva yadduḥkhaṃ rakṣyaṃ tasyaiva tanmatam|

pādaduḥkhaṃ na hastasya kasmāttattena rakṣyate||99||



āstāṃ tāvad yadāgāmikāyaduḥkharakṣārthaṃ na yatitavyam| iha ekasminnapi kāye pratyaṅgabhedādbhinnaṃ duḥkham| tato yadā anyadduḥkhamanyasya rakṣituṃ na yujyate, tadā kathaṃ pādādau prahāraṃ patantaṃ dṛṣṭvā hastaṃ prasārya rakṣyate ? anyatvāviśeṣānna yuktametadityarthaḥ||



atha-

ayuktamapi cedetadahaṃkārātpravartate

tadayuktaṃ nivartyaṃ tatsvamanyacca yathābalam||100||



ahaṃkāro'smin kāye ahamityātmagrahādātmano'bhāve'pi| pravartate jāyate pādādau rakṣaṇamanasikāraḥ| naitat sādhu| yato yadayuktaṃ yuktyā saṃgataṃ na bhavati, tannivartyamapasāryaṃ svakīyaṃ parakīyaṃ ca yathābalaṃ yathāsāmarthyam| śaktivaikalyādeva tadupekṣitumucitamiti bhāvaḥ||



syādetat-yadi nāma ātmādirnāsti, tathāpi saṃtāno nāma ekaḥ saṃbhavati, tathā bahūnāṃ karacaraṇādīnāṃ samudāyaḥ śarīramekam| tadetaddvayaṃ yathāsaṃbhavamihaloke paraloke ca ātmaduḥkhāpaharaṇāderniyāmakaṃ bhaviṣyati| tato'yamaviśeṣādityasiddho hetuḥ, pūrvaśca anaikāntika ityāśaṅkayāha-

saṃtānaḥ samudāyaśca paṅktisenādivanmṛṣā|

yasya duḥkhaṃ sa nāstyasmātkasya tatsvaṃ bhaviṣyati||101||



saṃtāno nāma na kaścidekaḥ paramārthasan saṃbhavati| kiṃ tarhi kāryakāraṇabhāva-pravṛttakṣaṇaparaṃparāpravāharūpa evāyam, tato vyatiriktasyānupalambhāt| tasmādeteṣāmeva kṣaṇānāmekapadena pratipādanāya saṃketo kṛto buddhairvyavahārārthaṃ saṃtāna iti| iti prajñaptisanneva ayam| tena atrābhiniveśo na kāryaḥ| anyathā ātmanā kimaparāddhaṃ yenāsau na svīkriyate| evaṃ samudāyo'pi na samudāyibhyo vastusan eko vidyate, tasya tebhyaḥ pṛthaganupalabdheḥ ? tattvānyatvavikalpastu asya avayavivicāreṇaiva gata iti neha pratāyate| tataśca ayamapi saṃvṛtisanneva pūrvavat| anayoryathāsaṃkhyamudāharaṇamāha-paṅktisenādivaditi| paṅkivat saṃtānaḥ, senādivat samudāyaḥ| ādiśabdānmālāvanādayo gṛhyante| yathā anekeṣāṃ pipīlikādīnāṃ pūrvāparabhāvena vyavasthitānāṃ svarūpamantareṇa paṅktirnāsti straksūtravadekāḥ, yathā ca hastyaśvapadātiprabhṛtibhyo militebhyo vyatiriktā nānyā senā kācidekā tatrāsti, tathā samudāyo'pi | etacca anyatra [9.73] vistareṇa vicāritamiti neha vicāryate| tasmādvastusadālambanābhāvānmṛṣāyaṃ pratyayaḥ| artho vā, vicārāsahatvāt| evamātmādeḥ svāminaḥ kasyacidabhāvād yasya saṃbandhi duḥkhaṃ sa nāsti| ataḥ kasya tadduḥkhaṃ svātmīyaṃ bhaviṣyati ? naiva kasyacidityarthaḥ| nanu yadi ātmādirnāsti, tadā kathamayaṃ dṛṣṭānto bhaviṣyati ātmavaditi ātmasattvavaditi ca ? satyametat| kiṃ tu nedaṃ vyasanitayā sādhanamabhidhīyate, kiṃ tarhi parasya ātmagrahābhiniveśanivāraṇāya| tadyadi parasya nivṛtta eva ātmagrahābhiniveśaḥ, tadā na kiṃcit prayojanamanumānaprayogasya| atha na nivṛttaḥ, tadā tadabhiprāyeṇaiva svaparavibhāgaṃ kṛtvā tatpratyāyanārthaṃ sādhanaṃ dṛṣṭāntaścocyate, iti na dṛṣṭāntasyāsiddhirvyavahārapravartanāya| kiṃ ca| idamupāttapañcaskandhamātramabhisaṃdhāya dṛṣṭānte dīyamāne na kācit kṣatiḥ, atraiva ātmaśabdasya pravṛtteriti||



idānīṃ prakṛtamupasaṃharannāha-

asvāmikāni duḥkhāni sarvāṇyevāviśeṣataḥ|

duḥkhatvādeva vāryāṇi niyamastatra kiṃkṛtaḥ||102||



na vidyante svāmino yeṣāmuktakrameṇeti vigrahaḥ| amamāni na kasyacitpratibaddhāni ityarthaḥ| kutaḥ ? kiṃ kānicideva ? na| sarvāṇyevāviśeṣataḥ| na kvacit kasyacit svāmitvamasti, viśeṣābhāvāt| duḥkhatvādeva svaparāvibhāgaṃ kṛtvā vāryāṇi niṣedhyāni bhavanti| nānyannimittamasti tatra ātmīyatvādi| tenāyaṃ niyamaḥ kiṃkṛtaḥ, kena viśeṣeṇa kṛtaḥ ? yena svakīyāni ca vāryāṇi na parakīyānīti| evaṃ duḥkhatvāditi heturanaikāntiko na bhavatīti samarthitam||



nanu yadi duḥkhī nāma na kaścit saṃsāre saṃbhavati, tarhi duḥkhamanivāryameva syāt, kṛpāpātrasya duḥkhinaḥ kasyacidabhāvādityāśaṅkamāna āha-

duḥkhaṃ kasmānnivāryaṃ cetsarveṣāmavivādataḥ|

vāryaṃ cetsarvamapyevaṃ na cedātmāpi sattvavat||103||



na vāryameva nirātmakatvādeva yadi manyase, tadā na yuktametat| kutaḥ ? sarveṣāmavivādādavipratipatteḥ| cārvākasyāpi svaduḥkhaparihāreṇaiveha pravṛtteḥ| na ca teṣāmātmano'bhyupagamādadoṣaḥ, tatsvabhāvasyānupalabdheḥ| na ca abhyupagamamātreṇa tasya sattā prasidhyati tatsādhakapramāṇābhāvāt, bādhakasya ca anekaprakārasyābhidhānāt| evaṃ sati yadi vāryaṃ duḥkham, tadā sarvaṃ vāryam, na cetsarvaṃ vāryam, tadātmāpi| upāttapañcaskandhasvabhāvamapi duḥkhaṃ na vāryam, sarva(ttva ?)vadaviśeṣādityupasaṃhāraḥ||



syādetat-karuṇāparatantratayā paraduḥkhaduḥkhinaḥ sarvaduḥkhāpaharaṇāya yatnaḥ| tadvaraṃ bahuduḥkhanidānaṃ saiva prathamato notpādayituṃ yujyata iti paravacanāvakāśaṃ śaṅkamāna āha-

kṛpayā bahu duḥkhaṃ cetkasmādutpadyate balāt|



balāditi prayatnāt| atrottaramāha-

jagadduḥkhaṃ nirūpyedaṃ kṛpāduḥkhaṃ kathaṃ bahu||104||



jagato duḥkhaṃ narakādikṛtamanekaprakāraṃ samīkṣya idaṃ kṛpākṛtaṃ duḥkhaṃ kathaṃ bahu ? nedaṃ bahu kṛpāduḥkhamiti bhāvaḥ||



kiṃ ca| aparamidamatrottaramityāha-

bahūnāmekaduḥkhena yadi duḥkhaṃ vigacchati|

utpādyameva tadduḥkhaṃ sadayena parātmanoḥ||105||



ekasya puruṣasya duḥkhena bahūnāṃ sattvānāṃ yadi duḥkhaṃ vigacchati nivartate, tadā utpādyameva janayitavyametattādṛśaṃ duḥkham| sadayena kṛpātmakena parasyātmanaśca||



utsūtratāmasya pariharannāha-

ataḥ supuṣpacandreṇa jānatāpi nṛpāpadam|

ātmaduḥkhaṃ na nihataṃ bahūnāṃ duḥkhināṃ vyayāt||106||



yata eva utpādyameva tadduḥkhaṃ kṛpālunā svaparātmanoḥ ata eva supuṣpacandreṇa bodhisattvena| nṛpādāpadaṃ nṛpasya vā rājña āpadam| jānatāpi budhyamānenāpi| ātmaduḥkhaṃ na nihataṃ na nivartitam| upekṣitamiti yāvat| tathā rājño'pi paralokaduḥkham| kimiti ? bahūnāṃ duḥkhināṃ vyayāt| duḥkhasyeti prakṛtaṃ ṣaṣṭhayantatayā saṃbadhyate| yaduktaṃ supuṣpacandrasyetivṛttake [samādhi. 35]-tathā hi-atīte'dhvani ratnapadmacandraviśuddhābhyudgatarājo nāma tathāgato'bhūt| sa bhagavān buddhakṛtyaṃ kṛtvā ciratarakālamavasthāya parinirvṛtaḥ| tasmiṃśca parinirvṛte śāsanāntardhānasamaye rājā śūradatto nāma babhūva| tasya ratnāvatī nāma rājadhānī| tasmin kāle dṛṣṭivipannāḥ sattvāḥ| teṣāmanukampārthaṃ bahavo bodhisattvā utpannāḥ pravrajitāḥ| te ca tato rāṣṭrajanapadebhyo nirvāsitāḥ samantabhadraṃ nāma araṇyavanakhaṇḍamupasṛtya viharanti sma sārdhaṃ supuṣpacandreṇa dharmabhāṇakena| atha khalu supuṣpacandrasya bodhisattvasya sattvān karuṇāyamānasya rahogatasya cetasi vitarka udapādi-yannvahaṃ janapadarāṣṭrarājadhānīrgatvā sattvān kumārgaprapannān kalyāṇe vartmani pratiṣṭhāpayāmi| sa tamarthaṃ sabrahmacāribhyo nivedayāmāsa| tairnivāryamāṇo'pi svayaṃ ca svāpadaṃ pratipadyamānaḥ tasya rājño'pi tato vanakhaṇḍānnirjagāma| sa krameṇa dharmaṃ deśayan tasya rājño rājadhānīmanuprāpto bahūn sattvān rājaputrāmātyapurohitaprabhṛtīn prakāraṃ vinīya satpathe vyavasthāpayan tena rājñā dṛṣṭaḥ| sahadarśanena prakuptaḥ sarva ca janakāyaṃ tadāvarjitaṃ pratipadya īrṣyādūṣitahṛdayaḥ| tadvadhārthaṃ svaputrānājñāpayāmāsa| tāṃśca tadvadhavimukhān pratipadya nandikaṃ vadhyaghātakamājñāpayāmāsa| tena tadājñāmanuvartamānena karacaraṇādicchedakrameṇa akṣīṇi ca saṃdaṃśikenoddhṛtya jīvitād vyaparopitaḥ| atha tasya bhikṣo rājamārgagatasya jīvitād vyaparopitasya śarīre anekānyadbhutāni babhūvuḥ| tāni pratipadya sa rājā niścitaṃ bodhisattva evāyaṃ bhikṣuriti paritāpagato bahutaraṃ paridevate sma| iti supuṣpacandrasyetivṛttakaṃ saṃkṣipya kathitam| vistareṇa punaḥ samādhirājasūtre [35] nirdiṣṭamiti tatraiva avadhāryam||



na cāpi kṛpāvatāṃ paraduḥkhaduḥkhināṃ mahadapi duḥkhaṃ bādhakamiti pratipādayannāha-

evaṃ bhāvitasaṃtānāḥ paraduḥkhasamapriyāḥ|

avīcimavagāhante haṃsāḥ padmavanaṃ yathā||107||



evaṃ parātmasamatayā bhāvitasaṃtānāḥ anābhogapravṛttacittasaṃtatayaḥ| paraduḥkhena samaṃ tulyaṃ priyaṃ sukhaheturyeṣāṃ te tathā| ātmasukhamapi paraduḥkhena duḥkhameva yeṣāmityarthaḥ| te avīcimavagāhante paravyasanasamuddharaṇāya tadduḥkhaṃ sukhameva manyamānāḥ| idamevāha-haṃsāḥ padmavanaṃ yathā| āvīcikamapi duḥkhaṃ sukhameva parārthe yeṣāṃ te| kena duḥkhahetunā anyena duḥkhino bhaviṣyanti ?



api ca| sukhamapi teṣāmasādhāraṇamevopajāyate parasukhena, ityupadarśayannāha-

mucyamāneṣu sattveṣu ye te prāmodyasāgarāḥ|

taireva nanu paryāptaṃ mokṣeṇārasikena kim||108||



duḥkhabandhanādvisaṃyujyamāneṣu sattveṣu satsu| ye te iti| teṣāmeva anubhavasiddhatvādidaṃtayā kathayitumaśakyāḥ, ata eva prāmodyasāgarāḥ saṃtuṣṭisamudrāḥ kṛpāvatāṃ saṃtāneṣu prādurbhavanti| taireva prāmodyasāgaraiḥ paryāptaṃ tadanyasukhavaimukhyāt parisamāptam| *******



ataḥ parārthaṃ kṛtvāpi na mado na ca vismayaḥ|

na vipākaphalākāṅkṣā parārthaikāntatṛṣṇayā||109||



tasmādyathāntaśo'varṇādātmānaṃ gopayāmyaham|

rakṣācittaṃ dayācittaṃ karomyevaṃ pareṣvapi||110||



abhyāsādanyadīyeṣu śukraśoṇitabinduṣu|

bhavatyahamiti jñānamasatyapi hi vastuni||111||



tathā kāyo'nyadīyo'pi kimātmeti na gṛhyate|

paratvaṃ tu svakāyasya sthitameva na duṣkaram||112||



jñātvā sadoṣamātmānaṃ parānapi guṇodadhīn|

ātmabhāvaparityāgaṃ parādānaṃ ca bhāvayet||113||



kāyasyāvayavatvena yathābhīṣṭāḥ karādayaḥ|

jagato'vayavatvena tathā kasmānna dehinaḥ||114||



yathātmabuddhirabhyāsātsvakāye'sminnirātmake|

pareṣvapi tathātmatvaṃ kimabhyāsānna jāyate||115||



evaṃ parārthaṃ kṛtvāpi na mado na ca vismayaḥ|

ātmānaṃ bhojayitvaiva phalāśā na ca jāyate||116||



tasmādyathārtiśokāderātmānaṃ goptumicchasi|

rakṣācittaṃ dayācittaṃ jagatyabhyasyatāṃ tathā||117||



adhyatiṣṭhadato nāthaḥ svanāmāpyavalokitaḥ|

parṣacchāradyabhayamapyapanetuṃ janasya hi||118||



duṣkarānna nivarteta yasmādabhyāsaśaktitaḥ|

yasyaiva śravaṇātrāsastenaiva na vinā ratiḥ||119||



ātmānaṃ cāparāṃścaiva yaḥ śīghraṃ trātumicchati|

sa caretparamaṃ guhyaṃ parātmaparivartanam||120||



yasminnātmanyatisnehādalpādapi bhayādbhayam|

na dviṣetkastamātmānaṃ śatruvadho bhayāvahaḥ||121||



yo māndyakṣutpipāsādipratīkāracikīrṣayā|

pakṣimatsyamṛgān hanti paripanthaṃ ca tiṣṭhati||122||



yo lābhasatkriyāhetoḥ pitarāvapi mārayet|

ratnatrayasvamādadyādyenāvīcīndhano bhavet||123||



kaḥ paṇḍitastamātmānamicchedrakṣetprapūjayet||

na paśyecchatruvaccainaṃ kaścainaṃ pratimānayet||124||



yadi dāsyāmi kiṃ bhokṣye ityātmārthe piśācatā|

yadi bhokṣye kiṃ dadāmīti parārthe devarājatā||125||



ātmārthaṃ pīḍayitvānyaṃ narakādiṣu pacyate|

ātmānaṃ pīḍayitvā tu parārthaṃ sarvasaṃpadaḥ||126||



durgatirnīcatā maurkhyaṃ yayaivātmonnatīcchayā|

tāmevānyatra saṃkrāmya sugatiḥ satkṛtirmatiḥ||127||



ātmārthaṃ paramājñapya dāsatvādyanubhūyate|

parārthaṃ tvenamājñapya svāmitvādyanubhūyate||128||



ye kecidduḥkhitā loke sarve te svasukhecchayā|

ye kecitsukhitā loke sarve te'nyasukhecchayā||129||



bahunā vā kimuktena dṛśyatāmidamantaram|

svārthārthinaśca bālasya muneścānyārthakāriṇaḥ||130||



na nāma sādhyaṃ buddhatvaṃ saṃsāre'pi kutaḥ sukham|

svasukhasyānyaduḥkhena parivartamakurvataḥ||131||



āstāṃ tāvatparo loke dṛṣṭo'pyartho na sidhyati|

bhṛtyasyākurvataḥ karma svāmino'dadato bhṛtim||132||



tyaktvānyonyasukhotpādaṃ dṛṣṭādṛṣṭasukhotsavam|

anyonyaduḥkhānād ghoraṃ duḥkhaṃ gṛhṇanti mohitāḥ||133||



upadravā ye ca bhavanti loke

yāvanti duḥkhāni bhayāni caiva|

sarvāṇi tānyātmaparigraheṇa

tatkiṃ mamānena parigraheṇa||134||



ātmānamaparityajya duḥkhaṃ tyaktuṃ na śakyate|

yathāgnimaparityajya dāhaṃ tyaktuṃ na śakyate||135||



tasmātsvaduḥkhaśāntyarthaṃ paraduḥkhaśamāya ca|

dadāmyanyebhya ātmānaṃ parān gṛhṇāmi cātmavat||136||



anyasaṃbaddhamasmīti niścayaṃ kuru he manaḥ|

sarvasattvārthamutsṛjya nānyaccintyaṃ tvayādhunā||137||



na yuktaṃ svārthadṛṣṭyādi tadīyaiścakṣurādibhiḥ|

na yuktaṃ syandituṃ svārthamanyadīyaiḥ karādibhiḥ||138||



tena sattvaparo bhūtvā kāye'smin yadyadīkṣase|

tattadevāpahatyāsmāt parebhyo hitamācara||139||



hīnādiṣvātmatāṃ kṛtvā paratvamapi cātmani|

bhāvayerṣyāṃ ca mānaṃ ca nirvikalpena cetasā||140||



eṣa satkriyate nāhaṃ lābhī nāhamayaṃ yathā|

stūyate'hamahaṃ nindyo duḥkhito'hamayaṃ sukhī||141||



ahaṃ karomi karmāṇi tiṣṭhatyeṣa tu susthitaḥ|

ayaṃ kila mahāṃlloke nīco'haṃ kila nirguṇaḥ||142||



kiṃ nirguṇena kartavyaṃ sarvasyātmā guṇānvitaḥ|

santi te yeṣvahaṃ nīcaḥ santi te yeṣvahaṃ varaḥ||143||



śīladṛṣṭivipattyādikleśaśaktyā na madvaśāt|

cikitsyo'haṃ yathāśakti pīḍāpyaṅgīkṛtā mayā||144||



athāhamacikitsyo'sya kasmānmāmavamanyase|

kiṃ mamaitadguṇaiḥ kṛtyamātmā tu guṇavānayam||145||



durgativyālabaktrasthenaivāsya karuṇā jane|

aparaṃ guṇamānena paṇḍitān vijigīṣate||146||



samamātmānamālokya yataḥ svādhikyavṛddhaye|

kalahenāpi saṃsādhyaṃ lābhasatkāramātmanaḥ||147||



api sarvatra me loke bhaveyuḥ prakaṭā guṇāḥ|

api nāma guṇā ye'sya na śroṣyantyapi kecana||148||



chādyerannapi me doṣāḥ syānme pūjāsya no bhavet|

sulabdhā adya me lābhāḥ pūjito'hamayaṃ na tu||149||



paśyāmo muditāstāvaccirādenaṃ khalīkṛtam|

hāsyaṃ janasya sarvasya nindyamānamitastataḥ||150||



asyāpi hi varākasya spardhā kila mayā saha|

kimasya śrutametāvat prajñā rūpaṃ kulaṃ dhanam||151||



evamātmaguṇān śrutvā kīrtyamānānitastataḥ|

saṃjātapulako hṛṣṭaḥ paribhokṣye sukhotsavam||152||



yadyapyasya bhavellābho grāhyo'smābhirasau balāt|

datvāsmai yāpanāmātramasmatkarma karoti cet||153||



sukhācca cyāvanīyo'yaṃ yojyo'smadvayathayā sadā|

anena śataśaḥ sarve saṃsāravyathitā vayam||154||



aprameyā gatāḥ kalpāḥ svārthaṃ jijñāsatastava|

śrameṇa mahatānena duḥkhameva tvayārjitam||155||



madvijñaptyā tathātrāpi pravartasvāvicārataḥ|

drakṣyasyetadguṇān paścādbhūtaṃ hi vacanaṃ muneḥ||156||



abhaviṣyadidaṃ karma kṛtaṃ pūrvaṃ yadi tvayā|

bauddhaṃ saṃpatsukhaṃ muktvā nābhaviṣyadiyaṃ daśā||157||



tasmādyathānyadīyeṣu śukraśoṇitabinduṣu|

cakartha tvamahaṃkāraṃ tathānyeṣvapi bhāvaya||158||



anyadīyaścaro bhūtvā kāye'smin yadyadīkṣase|

tattadevāpahṛtyarthaṃ parebhyo hitamācara||159||



ayaṃ susthaḥ paro duḥstho nīcairanyo'yamuccakaiḥ|

paraḥ karotyayaṃ neti kuruṣverṣyāṃ tvamātmani||160||



sukhācca cyāvayātmānaṃ paraduḥkhe niyojaya|

kadāyaṃ kiṃ karotīti chala(phala)masya nirūpaya||161||



anyenāpi kṛtaṃ doṣaṃ pātayāsyaiva mastake|

alpamapyasya doṣaṃ ca prakāśaya mahāmuneḥ||162||



anyādhikayaśovādairyaśo'sya malinīkuru|

nikṛṣṭadāsavaccainaṃ sattvakāryeṣu vāhaya||163||



nāgantukaguṇāṃśena stutyo doṣamayo hyayam|

yathā kaścinna jānīyādguṇamasya tathā kuru||164||



saṃkṣepādyadyadātmārthe pareṣvapakṛtaṃ tvayā|

tattadātmani sattvārthe vyasanaṃ vinipātaya||165||



naivotsāho'sya dātavyo yenāyaṃ mukharo bhavet|

sthāpyo navavadhūvṛttau hrīto bhīto'tha saṃvṛtaḥ||166||



evaṃ kuruṣva tiṣṭhaivaṃ na kartavyamidaṃ tvayā|

evameva vaśaḥ kāryo nigrāhyastadatikrame||167||



athaivamucyamāne'pi citta nedaṃ kariṣyasi|

tvāmeva nigrahīṣyāmi sarvadoṣāstvadāśritāḥ||168||



kva yāsyasi mayā dṛṣṭaḥ sarvadarpānnihanmi te|

anyo'sau pūrvakaḥ kālastvayā yatrāsmi nāśitaḥ||169||



adyāpyasti mama svārtha ityāśāṃ tyaja sāṃpratam|

tvaṃ vikrīto mayānyeṣu bahukhedamacintayan||170||



tvāṃ sattveṣu na dāsyāmi yadi nāma pramodataḥ|

tvaṃ māṃ narakapāleṣu pradāsyasi na saṃśayaḥ||171||



evaṃ cānekadhā datvā tvayāhaṃ vyathitaściram|

nihanmi svārthaceṭaṃ tvāṃ tāni vairāṇyanusmaran||172||



na kartavyātmani prītiryadyātmaprītirasti te|

yadyātmā rakṣitavyo'yaṃ rakṣitavyo na yujyate||173||



yathā yathāsya kāyasya kriyate paripālanam|

sukumārataro bhūtvā patatyeva tathā tathā||174||



asyaivaṃ patitasyāpi sarvāpīyaṃ vasuṃdharā|

nālaṃ pūrayituṃ vāñchāṃ tatko'syecchāṃ kariṣyati||175||



aśakyamicchataḥ kleśa āśābhaṅgaśca jāyate|

nirāśo yastu sarvatra tasya saṃpadajīrṇikā||176||



tasmānna prasaro deyaḥ kāyasyecchābhivṛddhaye|

bhadrakaṃ nāma tadvastu yadiṣṭatvānna gṛhyate||177||



bhasmaniṣṭhāvasāneyaṃ niśceṣṭānyena cālyate|

aśucipratimā ghorā kasmādatra mamāgrahaḥ||178||



kiṃ mamānena yantreṇa jīvinā vā mṛtena vā|

loṣṭādeḥ ko viśeṣo'sya hāhaṃkāraṃ na naśyasi||179||



śarīrapakṣapātena vṛthā duḥkhamupārjyate|

kimasya kāṣṭhatulyasya dveṣeṇānunayena vā||180||



mayā vā pālitasyaivaṃ gṛdhrādyairbhakṣitasya vā|

na ca sneho na ca dveṣastatra snehaṃ karomi kim||181||



roṣo yasya khalīkārāttoṣo yasya ca pūjayā|

sa eva cenna jānāti śramaḥ kasya kṛtena me||182||



imaṃ ye kāyamicchanti te'pi me suhṛdaḥ kila|

sarve svakāyamicchanti te'pi kasmānna me priyāḥ||183||



tasmānmayānapekṣeṇa kāyastyakto jagaddhite|

ato'yaṃ bahudoṣo'pi dhāryate karmabhāṇḍavat||184||



tenālaṃ lokacaritaiḥ paṇḍitānanuyāmyaham|

apramādakathāṃ smṛtvā styānamiddhaṃ nivārayan||185||



tasmādāvaraṇaṃ hantuṃ samādhānaṃ karomyaham|

vimārgāccittamākṛṣya svālambananirantaram||186||
